Our first full day together.

Our first full day together. Bob leads the way out of the front door into the garden. Sophie follows reluctantly  behind. She pauses on the doorstep as if to ask '' Do you think this is wise Bob ? ". Two minutes later and she's happily eating the peonies.

Lunchtime. The two dogs safely penned in together . Or so we think. Imagine our surprise when Sophie wanders, nose down, into the ground floor kitchen. ( Thankfully the steps to the upstairs kitchen are still too daunting a prospect to be explored alone ).  Sophie has learnt how to escape. Stage one is to use her brother as a trampoline to get onto the roof of the cage. Stage two is to leap with the agility of a circus cat from the roof of the cage over the bars of the pen. A decidedly unhappy Bob sits sad and folorn waiting for her to return.

It's now two thirty in the morning. A sprint down the hall  at the sound of the early morning '' I need a pee ' howl. Bob takes my arrival as the cue to widdle. Sophie thoughfully waits until I open the pen door. Maybe we'll get the hang of it tomorrow?

Today Bob and Sophie will be meeting the builders, the man with an electric camera who checks for blocked drains, the mayor and possibly Madame Bay. Both dogs and owners are getting along swimmingly .

They are just darling, you have made my day complete. Thanks for sharing these darling little "adventurers" with the world. Something tells me Miss Sophie has a mischievous side to her!

Simply adorable faces! That's okay, they will eventually get the hang of going out to pee. But, having said that, Willow will be 11 this November, she still sometimes forgets. But that's okay, they are just too cute, and that's all that counts!

Ah, memories!! Do they make doggy doors for rickety farmhouses?

Are the sides of your and "The Font's" face sore yet? I'm smiling just looking at your photos, but for you and "The Font" having Bob and Sophie doing things at full puppy speed would be enthralling.

So many memories and so many adventures are ahead!

The first picture says it all, Bob is in the house. Him just standing in the door way takes my breath away. It has been so long since a pon has stood there. Oh, this is a happy moment in time.

Sophie, you go girl. You are going to give us a lots of things to laugh about in the coming years. Poor Bob left behind in the pen all by himself, kind of hard to believe. Bet he was thinking " what just happened?"

Hope they learn fast about going out side to potty. At least it makes good story material for you.
So glad you had a fun first day.

When do they get to visit the cafe? That should be another good story.

Scotsmad read my mind before my thought was formed. Wonderful seeing them on the grass. Puppy pads?

Loved the vision of the shy and retiring Sophie trampolining off her brother's back to escape!

Oh my goodness, so funny and so sweet. Still waters run deep with that little girl, I think she only pretends to defer to her brother. Smart!

The stories are going to be very good with these 2!

Love the close-up of Bob in the second picture, the white around his nose looks like it's blowing back in the wind created by his running. And Sophie? You go, girl.

Capers already, fabulous!
What a lovely picture of Lady Sophie across the threshold. Very proprietorial. Typical Pon, fantastic! And what a beautifully imperious pose from Master Bob in picture four. It seems to me that they are absorbing the energy of their surroundings already. They look different today and already very settled. I am sure Wilf and Digby are around to lend a guiding paw or two.
Oh how I yearn to kiss those noses!
Have fun!

How happy your home must be again, now that you can enjoy the patter of 8 little feet and get up in the middle of the night for bathroom brakes. We're also looking forward to see if they earn a bit of croissant on the morning walks to the cafe.

What a wonderful first day together.
I knew Sophie was going to be the one to watch....she's smart, that one. I think when she's playing coy and quiet, she's masterminding her next smart move.
You go girl!!!
Loved the second close-up photo of Bob, he looks like he means business in a cute sort of way. He knows he's in charge of security at the ROF.
Best of luck with the workmen today.

I always thought PONs had clown noses...now I know that it is because they are circus dogs. These two are going to be a barrel of fun.

Sophie welcoming us at the door way is a heartwarming sight indeed.
The pup's farm held lots of interest and adventure for them. Lots of play, walks and toys to keep them amused and entertained are in order or the curious little escape artist (s) might be found anywhere! They're smart, Angus, and adorable beyond words.

Just a quick word of caution. Peonies can be
toxic. Plenty of info on the web.

After looking at the top picture again I see I made a mistake, that is Sophie at the door and not Bob.

Ah yes, you must be smiling all of the time with those two pups. I smile just seeing the header to the blog. How much do they weigh? I have never met a PON in person.

It's so much fun to observe the differences, and they are many, between the sexes of our dogs.
Before we got Apple, Edward used to sit patiently outside the back door waiting for it to open. Apple took one look at this, rolled her eyes, and stood up on her fat puppy legs and pushed, and pushed, till it opened. Edward followed her inside with a "Jeepers. I didn't know you could do that!" look on his face.
Girls, no matter how shy they may seem at first blush, are incredibly resourceful.
