The happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give.

Strange weather. Snow in Spain. Cool and damp here. The ladies of the village fleuri committee are out en masse tidying up the village green ahead of Sundays Saints Day procession .

The mayor had hoped that the village might win an award in this years beautiful villages competition. This now looks unlikely. The very old farmer has decided that his front garden is to be left to grow wild . A decision designed to rile his arch nemesis in the town hall. The very old farmer still believes that during the last heatwave the mayor sold the government supplied bottled water that was rightly his.

So it is that one side of the lane is award winningly trimmed and tidy. The other side , facing the church , the very old farmers decidedly non-award winning wilderness of tall grass through which can be seen the outlines of a rather splendid  tree peony and the occasional bluebell.

Village feuds mean nothing to Bob and Sophie who continue to enjoy life. For the first time they make it up, as well as down, the slippery wooden staircase that leads from the hall to the upstairs kitchen.  One of lifes little triumphs.  Bobs tail, we notice, wags 24/7.

Sophie seems to be gaining weight on Bob.

Bob's tail tells us he feels a lot of happiness.

I am quite positive Sophie does also.

Weight as of this morning Bob 11 kilos : Sophie 9.5
That's a kilo a week they're putting on.
There's no doubting that Bob is going to be a big boy.

Personally, I think the "wild garden" looks most attractive!
Both of the puppies look extremely waggy, whether visibly (the tail) or within. Wonderful!

Bob is a big boy and a sweetheart.
Of course, I love Sophie too! She is a cheeky monkey.
Beautiful fluffy babies.

So they've now made it to the upstairs kitchen....a magical kingdom of more treats and smells. Was it Sophie that led the way?
Love the fleur de lis stencil along the stair border and your new header of the gardening duo.
The poor old farmer still holding on to last years bottled water saga...he needs to let it go.

I agree with VirginiaC, the very old farmer should just let go of any animosity and follow Bob's example and "wag more and bark less."

The rise on your staircase looks easier for puppy paws, Bob and Sophie! Mom loves the fleur de lis stencil.

Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly

am i a silly worrier?
my first thought when hearing of the farmer letting his lawns go wild . . . TICKS! and little digby.
OH NO.
but then our puppies won't go into the old farmer's lawn field.
they are sublimely happy running rampant in their own beautiful domain!
not long now til rugby running in the hall!

We too woke up to snow. It snowed all night. And its still snowing. I just don't get it.

But what I do know is those two pups are the cutest things ever. Happy to hear of the constant wagging. We have that with our Tucker.

I just have to laugh! The characters in your village sound like something out of a book! I am not surprised Bob's tail wags all the time, he lives an idyllic life.

Idyllic = compost heaps and snails .

Now if Sophie can just climb on Bob's back to reach the fridge handle.......

Another vote for the fleur-de-lis stencils. And a beautiful peony that is, too. I do hope Sophie will get equal time as the pin-up for the header photo.

Ah yes, mastering the stairs. I do remember that being quite tricky. Bob and Sophie, I do hope that you, unlike me, have been spared the indignity of human laughter while you try to figure out how to co-ordinate all four limbs...
Toodle pip!

That very old farmer is starting the warm season off with a flourish. The feuding will provide entertaining fare for us!!
Congrats to Bob and Sophie for their stair climbing skills; most tricky. Good dogs!!
I too, must mention the creative stencils; fabulous!

A little something for everyone's garden style preference.
Maybe that is the selling point.

Sophie is a precious little bear.
I think Bob has Wilf's glorious black nose
