Happiness is a choice that requires effort at times.

Bob and Sophie are being kept apart until the stitches come out. How easy it sounds. When Bob goes into the garden Sophie howls. When Sophie goes into the garden Bob howls. When Bob gets fed Sophie howls... The traumas of sibling separation . Yesterday was a nerve stretching day for howling.

The solar powered swimming pool makers finally answer the phone. A lady who claims to be head of exports ( she won't give her name ) asks me " Are you foreign ? You should know that in France you speak only to the agent never to the manufacturer " . With that and a very audible tut of annoyance she slams the phone down. When I phone back - guess what ? The answer machine message telling me they're out at lunch has been switched back on. Angus has decidedly ungentlemanly thoughts.

Ahead of the nationwide floral village competition the mayor ( resplendent in red tartan pork pie hat ) and the ladies of the Village Fleuri committee are hard at work planting out flowers. A rather regular arrangement of brightly coloured dahlias appears opposite the Rickety Old Farmhouse . '' A good chance of getting a prize this year " says the mayor before pausing and repeating what he's just said. The regional judging takes place on Saturday. Let's hope the judges like dahlias.

Here's a Friday morning video brimming full of very happy people. The couple are adorable and the the woman's cardigan ( a cameo appearance at  4:06 ) should become a registered historic landmark.

We ought to get one for the Prancersizer lady so she could prance down the street whipping her Flo about, don't you think?

Do you have to keep the pups separated for two whole weeks? Tough on those little pupkids. Maybe give them some supervised play time.

Cheers, sending off for my Flo right now,

Jo

I am now seeing Pancercising in a whole new light. That video was toe curlingly cheesey!
How terribly discourteous of that 'lady' representing the pool company. I would be fuming. They don't deserve to be in business. I would have to exert extreme self control to not find a way of bringing her down a peg or two.
The poor babes; how long until Sophie's stitches are removed?
I hope you have a better day today!
xx

Prancerfloing ?

Only another week to go. Bob only has one mode of play - full on !

Given that Bob will also be having a 'procedure' before too long, can I recommend you invest in a set of ear plugs. The pragmatic solution.

Bob does indeed look disgruntled.

Had to skip to the cardigan....couldn't hack the happy people with plastic bags of water. Noticed the infomercial was from 1991, so assume it didn't catch on!

It seems to have been a fad that came and went quickly .

Oh how I wish I could have a go at that rude lady at the swimming pool cover company!!! I am here reeling at the way she spoke to you and then hung up.
Is it possible to by-pass the company all together (except you're still under warranty) and do an online search for the crank? Is there a Better Business Bureau or some such service ranking forum where they can be exposed? I would have nothing more to do with them, but I would make sure others knew about their after sales service.
Bob and Sophie howling because they're apart, even though loud and annoying, I still thought was cute. I had two stray cats howling in the middle of the night that woke me up form a very deep sleep...not cute at all.
Angus, once again, I'm asking you, where one earth do you find these crazy videos? I had never heard of the Flo before.....thank goodness.

These are the times that you just wish you could make Bob and Sophie understand -- And I am so very sorry that the pool-cover-company doesn't seem to either, Angus!!

I'm a little speechless at the video, and the couple reminds me of TV evangelist for some reason. But on the flipside it somehow reminded me of one of my very favorite Youtube video's, "Where the Hell is Matt 2008" Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY

Amazing what fun can be found on YouTube !

Goodness, Flo-ing and Prancersizng! I am leery of what you are going to show us next.
Those poor poor dogs look like the most miserable creatures on earth. At least Bob's little operation won't be quite so taxing on everyone.
Bonne Chance to the Fleuri Committee.

PS We are wondering if the Tour de France is coming near you in the next day or so?

The after-purchase treatment one seems to receive
in France is somewhat shocking. Makes me wonder
if you were ever able to get those scratches on the
windscreen repaired.

It's nice that Sophie got sprung from her cell long enough to go outside, however briefly, although she looks less than thrilled. That exercise video strikes me as tai chi with props. Thanks, whoever was strong enough to watch it long enough to get the date; I skipped straight to the amazing sweater, and out.

Oh that sweater! I've seen ones like it many times at thrift shops. Prancerfloing---Angus you may have come up with new fodder for an infomercial.
Only 10 days to go and Sophie will get her stitches out. When will Bob get "tutored"?

Angus said...

When we've both recovered from having one patient in the house. Sometime after the summer.

Angus said...

No. French after sales service is ' unique '.

This year we're in the bit of France they fly over. Albi ( which is wonderful and an hour and a half away ) is as close as they get.

The comments after the video on You Tube were as hysterical as the video itself. Thanks for making me laugh until tears ran down my cheeks!! Off to PrancerFlo! Cheers!!

That video brought a much needed laugh! Some of those old people were one swing away from a herniating a disc. Their body won't be their friend after that!

Angus said...

Great to hear from you . Hope all is going well and that the surgery is over. Please keep us posted.

You mean you and the font don't gaze at each other with joy and adoration, giggle and speak sweetly at all times?

I think it is a good thing I never discovered the flo, I'd surely have had to replace several windows.

That is one massive cardi! Wow wee! Sorry it was a day of howling...its nerve wracking and heart wrenching at the same time!

You Tube! For all of the truly unique, off beat videos (was it you that introduced us to xylophone in the forrest?) there are a thousand cheesy, vulgar, self aggrandizing, boring videos. We simply cannot decide if You Tube or The Kardashians is a better indicator of the decline of western civilIzation.
Dahlias are an old time favorite. Hope your village wins.
