Life is a promise, fulfill it.

Perfect weather. Mid-twenties ( seventy something in old coinage ) , a few clouds, a light breeze. Warm enough to enjoy a dip in the pool but not linger.

The young deer becoming more adventurous. Three of them eating the leaves on the walnut trees when we wander out into the garden at first light. They're off over the fence and halfway , no - three quarters of the way , across the wheat field before Bob and Sophie see them. Much anguished howling from the family PON's. '' I nearly had them Sophie ".

As the sun rises our two seven month old companions settle down with a small branch and start to chew it from either end. PON happiness.

Bob, for sure you nearly had those deer. Same as I so often nearly catch the red deer as I bounce over the heather to chase the red deer in Torridon. Just don't let anyone tell you different.
Toodle pip!

Love the close-up photos of the tag team....Sophie is a real diva...look at her posing for the camera in the 3rd photo.
Especially loved the cute photo of them sharing the stick. The flag on the fountain in the background is also a nice touch.
What a lovely peaceful day for Bob and Sophie.....PON happiness indeed.
Have a great weekend.

Oh well, Bob, maybe the deer will be back and give you another go.

Oh, that Sophie! Photo bomber. I must say, though, while Squishy Beagle may not have caught the deer, he certainly would have scented them as soon as he was outside - ARROO, ARROO!! My new boy :).

They are getting so big!

I guess the stick is small consolation after losing the deer. Perhaps they're dreaming of gnawing on a deer shank instead.

Enormous. Like PON's on stilts. Every week we say to each other ' they must be fully grown '.
