If you don't know where you're going, any road'll take you there.

Off to the rugby match. Bob settles across my lap, yawns and falls asleep. Sophie lies next to me. When the teams come onto the pitch she graciously lets the young fireman playing scrum half scratch her head but gives the gendarme with the neck thicker than his head a look that says ' approach at your own risk ' .

At half time Sophie ( who is still on her hunger inducing medication )  leads her brother and her master off in the direction of the stand that sells 'dubious'  hot dogs. The smell of these evil concoctions has wafted, temptingly, across from the car park to where she's been sitting. When told she's not getting one she emits a high pitched squeal of frustration. Her dying pig routine. Sophie's picked up, howling, and deposited in the back of the car. We miss the second half of the match. Not that this is any great loss. Both teams are displaying what can best be described as a post Sunday lunch aversion to exertion.

When the PON duo get home they start digging in the orchard. Sophie's paws turn black. Angelic on the outside, pure mischief inside.

And there was me, imagining that half time snacks at French rugby games might be a tad more sophisticated than here...

In some things the French are decidedly less sophisticated. There again a 10 month old PON might disagree.

Just wondered if the PONs had trained the Texan to play touch rugby ?

No, but they've picked up the rudiments of baseball.

You are a cruel master - I'm definitely on Sophie's side. Hot dogs - how truly gastronomique..!!

I agree with you, hot dogs are gross. To eat one would surely set The Princess back in her recovery!

Ha ha ha! Sophie, remember that well behaved dogs don't make for good blogs and never change!

My grandparents had a Sheltie who sat and howled pitifully every time the ice cream truck drove through the neighborhood in the most pitiful way possible. It all started because my grandpa bought him an ice cream sandwich from it once....

"dying pig routine" LOL. I think they learn that one in puppy school.

Sophie is a clever girl who know what she wants and how to get it, and it looks like she has her feet now firmly on the outside table top (after the indoor chicken incident) - next summer she will be up on that table enjoying the food surrounded by your guests! I predict, eventually she will get fed while watching the rugby.

I also meant to say, that your dogs enjoy a good life style in France!

Hot dogs are disgusting, but they can't be worse than toads and dessicated voles. I hope she doesn't have to take the medication for much like longer. Feeling so hungry that you almost want to gnaw off an arm (paw) has be uncomfortable.

My dear Sophie girl....you know you're not supposed to be on top of the table.;
You'll never get any hotdogs with that kind of behaviour.
