Fail, fail again, fail better.

Brussel sprouts for dinner with some slivers of turkey. Both bowls licked until they shine. Bob eats slowly, savouring every mouthful. Sophie adopts a more industrial approach. Six gulps and its gone. She does her plaintive ' you've forgotten to feed me ' routine. When this doesn't work she tries to steal some of her brothers food. This also doesn't work.  As a final resort she does her multi-octave dying diva act. This involves lying on her back with her feet in the air while simultaneously howling. She is ignored. There may be peace on earth but with Sophie around you can be sure there's no peace in the kitchen.

Maybe Sophie has noticed that her brother is a good bit taller than her, and just wants to catch up.

Sophie the eternal diva.....love the multi-octave diva act picture you painted....made me laugh out hard.
I can't believe they both enjoyed brussel sprouts......I love them but I'm not sure my Brownie would like them....I must try him and see.

They adore them. There again they also like rice cakes and Carrs water biscuits.

Brussel sprouts! Oh you are a brave man! Brussel sprouts are known to cause flatulence in even the most cast iron of guts!

My Stella is another gobbler, I feed her and the cat at the same time. So Stella finishes in seconds, then goes to see why Zkhat is taking so long, maybe needs help? So I am thinking of buying her one of those slow down bowls to eat from like shown here

Hoping that might work here!

Next time you prepare salad, try them on the crunchy ends of romaine leaves. My dogs love those, and even Diva Sophie might be placated for a minute.
Love the new header picture, all prancing energy and floofy tails.

I have also just noticed the new header.........marvellous!!
That Sophie's a clever girl. Second helpings usually go to the one who shouts the loudest.

Hi Angus,
I was just reading about this L.A. company and thought of you with your work involving aeroplanes (still unsure exactly what you do) and your blog comments about unusual furniture. Perhaps not the style you and "the font" are aiming for at the Rickety Old Farmhouse, but worth a look to see which bits you recognize. http://www.motoart.com/

Bob and Edward eat exactly alike. Savouring every mouthful.
Apple's routine? The mirror image of Sophie's.
Somehow this speaks badly of the feminine relationship with food.

Brownie likes apple cinnamon flavoured rice cakes too.

Most Beagles eat like Sophie; my senior adoptable Black and Tan Coonhound Walter has this huge zen like bowl with long curved places for his food to help him slow down. Not sure if it works. Your written imagery is priceless.

Poor, starving Sophie! She sounds like she took a page from Flattery's book...
