How can I work with these animals around ?

Caroline, the ever unhappy cleaning lady, arrives at eight. This is the cue for Angus and Sophie to head off leaving 'the font' and Bob to deal with her litany of complaints. As we close the gate I can hear a conversation about dog hair. ' It's really not good enough. How can I work with these animals around ? '. 'The font' has decided that Caroline brings out the Grizzly Bear in Angus and that the less interface between the two the better.

There are wild boar about so Sophie is kept on her lead. Not that this bothers her. She's just happy to be sniffing and nosing in the long grass. We've not had rain in a month so the fields are now looking decidedly parched.

At the churchyard we bump into the mayor and his wife. They're tidying the graveyard in readiness for All Souls Day. The mayor's in a short sleeved shirt ( it's still in the 70's), grey crimplene trousers, open toed sandals and red tartan pork pie hat . His wife is dressed in what appears to be a tweed jacket with matching plus fours. Closer inspection shows that it's a check cardigan of voluminous proportions with black tracksuit trousers tucked into a pair of brown wellington boots. They wave their respective trowels at Sophie.

Is it only in Paris, where fashion seems to be taken seriously?

A home without cat/dog fur/hair is not a home :D

Caroline really is a cup half empty person isn't she? A cleaner could look upon the PON duo in terms of expended employment opportunities...

Good point. There again so would a decorator or a demolition expert .

Possibly you could add Lyons and Bordeaux.

You're quite right. Caroline doesn't seem to understand that PON's are a breed that don't shed their hair.

I did of course mean to type expanded not expended!

Very wise Angus and Sophie. I'd want to head for the hills when Caroline starts her litany of complaints ! Dog fur, really?

Don't you have a new mayor? Sounds as though the previous one passed
on his wardrobe to his successor. I don't think I have ever referred to
anyone's dog as an "animal." Certainly not our own.

I suppose you keep her on because she is a good cleaner, but I think I would prefer someone rather more like Mme Bay.
PON fur (when occasionally separated from its owner) is very easy to pick up. It's like tumbleweed!

I'd love a tartan red pork pie hat.
For Friday night, you know.

"animals"? Surely she isn't referring to the children!

Oh dear.

She is not the right cleaning lady for you.

At least the mayor and his wife were happy to see Sophie. But your post has reminded me of a quote I saw recently that says, "The fine line between love and hate is one negative comment about my dog."

There's just a time in ones life when one must banish all negative relationships and chose to accept only the the positive presences. Fire Caroline. If you'd prefer not, I will for you. The nerve of that woman not to cherish Bob and Sophie!
