Optimist: Someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it’s a cha-cha.

A fireball has been seen in the sky above our little corner of paradise.

The local paper illustrates the story with a picture of the back of a womans head, a radiator and a television . The back of the head belongs to Gabrielle ( who does not wish to be photographed) who was watching television when she glanced out of the window and saw the track of the meteorite in the sky.

Following the sighting Madame Bay is more convinced than ever that alien reinforcements are en route to join those who lurk in her orchard. Monsieur Bay has the resigned look of a long married man who has been told at two in the morning that there are glowing lights behind the pear trees.

It has rained overnight. The PONs sit on the wooden table by the pool while their owner looks for  the car keys. The wooden table keeps them out of the puddles and their undercarriages partially dry. PON common sense. After a full nights sleep Bob has what might be called a 'squiffy' look to him.

Bob squiffy? Never - the word you were looking for is windblown ! The same look that gives Sophie another of her bad hair days!
First the sun dog and now the fire ball - oh dear, Madame Bay could be right !! Not to worry - the fearless duo will see them off!

The photo of the angelic duo sitting on top of the table made me laugh out very loud this morning...who would have thought that at one time this same table was out of bounds.
Oh dear I had to look up "squiffy" and the meaning made me laugh too because I once had a friend who would swing in his hammock with his dog.
When he would light up his joint he would encourage the dog to jump down on to the floor but she never moved. He would exhale his clouds of weed into the dog's face, who would then became quite "squiffy" looking, but would NEVER EVER jump down from the hammock.. I would try to remove her but she would use her "dead weight" position to deter me. Angus you've brought back such younger day memories for me this morning.....and no I've never smoked the stuff.

Bob looks like he's "slept in his hair" as a friend of mine has a habit of saying!
If Mme Bay says there are aliens, then there must be - who would dare to contradict her!

I meant to add that the photo in the newspaper is very much like what you might get for a house that's "à vendre" - in some cases it would be the only photo of the house on the immobilier's website!

A cynic might wonder why they would choose Madame Bays pear orchard rather than central Paris or Chicago. There again others might conjecture that aliens would fit right in here.

Those two on the table! A charming photo. Madame Bay must feel properly vindicated in her theories!

Aliens are more often than not reported landing in the United States.. Nice to know they've broadened their horizons a bit.

I'm sure they are from the dog planet. All the signs are there.

Sophie, enjoys those long furs while you can. The 'I'm not fat I'm fluffy' line may not survive the summer haircut…
Toodle pip!

LOL you are lucky you will never see me in the morning! At least until my fringe grows out which should be in about 12 months time given my current rate of hair growth. Bob looks gorgeous regardless. Wish I did. Ha ha ha
