What talent !

Bob and Angus will be going to watch a rugby match. A professional event that will ( hopefully ) involve more than two teams of local farmers wandering affably up one side of the pitch and back down the other. Bob knows that an outing is in store because he's started to snort . A sure sign of happiness overload.

Sophie will be staying at home. This is nothing to do with a misplaced belief that a boy dog will enjoy a rugby match and a girl dog won't.

Rather, it is a recognition that Sophie has three voluble personae that she displays at  public gatherings. These are:

1) I'm bored. Take me home.
2) I'm hungry. Take me home.
3) I don't like the look of that man. Let me at him.

She can also be counted on to turn on her back and fall indecorously asleep just as the final whistle blows .

As a recompense Sophie will be taster in chief as the dinner time roast chicken is prepared. She will also take all Bobs soft toys out of the box and drop them in the courtyard.

The practicalities of a damp Sunday in deepest France profonde with two Polish Lowland Sheepdogs.

So I am imagining that when Bob accompanies you to rugby he watches attentively, barks at the appropriate moments - a try, a drop goal etc. - and growls at any sign of egregious violence on the pitch. Maybe he has his own hip flask tied around his neck like a St Bernard and partakes of a wee dram at half time while stamping his paws in the cold?
Cheers! Gail.

Husband has also gone to a local rugby match, sans un chien, but with english friends. They will enjoy the repas before the game and perhaps a couple of drinks during, as one does. The sun is shining here in the gironde, so why not ? Hope Angus and Bob enjoy their day "bonding".

If I were Sophie, I'd have a revengeful eye on
those rosemary bushes.

Oh Sophie, you've let the side down again - surely you wouldn't misbehave at a rugby match - what would your adoring public think?. Still, taster in chief for roast chicken and playing fast and loose with Bob's toys can't be bad.
