When it's over, leave. Don't continue watering a dead flower.

Bob rushes out of the door, Sophie follows in hot pursuit. Bob greets the day silently. Sophie doesn't. She wakes the village with her decidedly unladylike, eighty a day, bark.  By the time I've found the car keys the intrepid duo have done some rearranging of the garden.

The builder shows up. " M'Ongoose. Is it alright if we start work on Monday ? ".  He's going to rip out the old kitchen upstairs and dispose of the flame emitting Vesuvius that passes as a cooker. The fact that he was first asked to do this a year ago a mere detail.

Sandrine, Madame Bay's hairdresser daughter, is having a new plate glass door installed in her salon. Madame Bay has gone along, uninvited, to 'help' supervise the workmen. After twenty minutes Sandrine and her mother are having a ' family moment'. To the relief of the workmen Mother is banished. She arrives at the front door in the ever more dented Wild Child voiturette; two great grandchildren in tow.

Bob hears the crashing of gears and quickly disappears upstairs and hides under a bed. The thought of being enveloped in Madame Bays Lily of the Valley scented embrace something no self respecting boy dog would willingly consider. Sophie basks in the adulation. '' You've come to see moi  ? ".

So, a new drama is about to unfold at the ROF, and the cast of characters is assembling! Is this the builder with the overalls that Bob found so interesting - or was that the plumber? And we see that Madame Bay will be around to orchestrate matters, too. Looks as though Bob has found himself a new vantage point with which to keep on eye on things and we assume that Sophie will be in the midst of it all.

Can't wait to see if they actually arrive on Monday....did they specify WHICH Monday?

Anyone who eats unidentified fruit....well, Darwin Award Material, perhaps?

Yes, we too felt 'Monday' was worryingly unspecific...

Good luck with this supposed Monday appointment.
Yikes, I agree about the Darwin awards for the two people eating strange unidentified fruit.

"You've come to see moi?" sounds exactly like something Ms.Diva Sophie would say...(I'm going with a Miss Piggy from The Muppets impersonation here).....so nice to know that Madame Bay is well.
The manchineel fruit is extremely poisonous...I wrote a post about it on my blog..."Easy like Sunday morning," Here on the island there are signs posted on the trees on most of the popular beaches that the tourists frequent..

GREAT grandchildren?

Madame Bay, despite her youthful demeanour and ever positive outlook on life, is a lady of a certain age .

Your blog should be a must go to link for visitors to warn them of the perils of soft fruits. Don't think I've ever seen them - possibly on St'Kitts ?
