Muggy.

Up early to talk to men in dark suits about 'serious' things. You know things are serious because it's midnight in New York and they're all in the office. Bob wanders into see me and puts a sleepy head on my knee. He looks up with his '' shall we go for a walk ? " look. Trust a dog to know what's really important.

With the heat comes the humidity. Bob and Sophie are not impressed with the mugginess. At least the terrace, with its cool stone floors, is finally ready for them to doze on. The pilgrims also seem to dislike the humidity. Last week there were scores of them wandering by every day. Now there's not even a solitary figure for the PONs to greet.

To the garden store. They have a new delivery of Anduze pots. We want to order four for lime trees on the terrace. This being France the garden centre considers the idea of delivering them to be quite outlandish if not insulting. '' Oh no monsieur that would certainly not be possible ! ". Bob eyes up the pots but is hurried into the back of the car before he can practise his christening skills.

Just another summer Monday morning in deepest, deepest France profonde.

The morose lads have done a very good job on the terrace, and we're sure you will all enjoy many pleasant hours out there. We'll think of you on balmy summers evenings, enjoying a glass or two of wine, the heady scent of the roses, and the silence broken only by the sound of snoring PONs.

This is looking absolutely gorgeous and the perfect space for those 2 adorable dogs to relax and take in the day. On those balmy evenings the owners enjoying a glass of wine and the owners' owners enjoying some tidbits. Perfect way to end a day.

Let's hope the dark-suited men in New York do not have dogs waiting at home for a walk. Oh no, they probably have their wives on a bonus scheme for that sort of thing don't they...?

No, they are more likely to employ professional dog walkers these days. Their wives are much too busy spending their money !

Perhaps the morose lad wanting to buy the Golf, would deliver the pots for a bit of money. Of course, those lads don't have a great record for keeping things in one piece.

Oh yes, dogs know just how to make you get your priorities in order and walkies is very high on the list!

The terrace looks great, and I'm happy that it's ready for the PON duo to relax on during the summer heat. The morose lads did a great job.
I can't believe the garden store couldn't accommodate you with a delivery of the pots....maybe you can borrow the old farmer's wagon to take them home. Whenever I have big items to transport that are too huge for my jeep, I ask one or two of my friends with larger trucks for help and invariably someone comes to my aid...they are then well rewarded.

What a wonderful story! It begins with two pictures of innocence (?). Then moves on to mysterious men in suits up & in the office, at an uncommon hour for them, in another country. Shifting to goals accomplished by morose lads, a place for fond memories to be made. And baby sunflowers, zillions of them. Ending with glorious pots, of all shapes and sizes! Oh my,(sigh)... It was like reading a chapter from a book, never knowing what was to happen next! Taking place in just the span of a morning.

The terrace looks very nice, as do the big garden pots.

I imagine the men in dark suits may be a bit frazzled these days, but I've never known them not to come out of similar kerfuffles in good shape. They should be required to take at least one MBA course in "Throw the Furry Fox" -- it would be good for their souls.

The pots are rather lovely and will look wonderful planted with lime trees. Fresh limes are heavenly. They actually have flavour and oh, that scent! Hope you can help with the dark suited men's problems. The world seems to be going a bit off again.

By July 21st we'll all have forgotten 'the excitement'.

'Careful handling' and 'morose lads' are terms unlikely to be used in the same sentence.

That is Sophie's latest doo-doo. The others are disembowled and hidden around the garden.

If the newspapers are negative then we know everythings going to be fine .

It took a while but they've done a good job.

Wine and sausage. Bliss for dogs and owners !

A dog owners sense of priority !

At least if the store delivered them they'd be covered by insurance !
