Last of the summer wine.

Sunday was blindingly hot. A last of the summer wine day. Today is overcast and muggy. The first of the winters Atlantic fronts due to saunter in from the Bay of Biscay this afternoon. Time to put the heating on ?

Bob and Sophie start their day with a noisy and enthusiastic game of tug-of-war.

The Old Farmer has headed off to Provence to buy olive oil. He promises to pick up two cases for us. He's going in the silver Peugeot estate car as it's 'niftier' on the back roads. Angus is left to ponder what might be 'nifty' about a 40 year old Peugeot estate car that's been ( badly ) resprayed in metallic silver to hide the glass fibre repairs.

While he's away Angus has been entrusted with the task of feeding the Old Farmers two cats. The cats prove to be remarkably friendly. Bob and Sophie somehow know I've been seeing cats. They do not approve.

As I write Sophie is out by the barn waiting for the arrival of the morose lads. So far she has refrained from her favorite game of lying on her back and rolling down the pile of gravel. It's still early. Afterwards a day of 'throw the Fury Fox' awaits.

Here's some good news for Greyfriar Bobby lovers : http://www.scotsman.com/lifestyle/heritage/new-research-may-save-skye-terrier-from-extinction-1-3914048#axzz3oF2lIetx

Do Atlantic fronts 'saunter'? Perhaps not in Scotland.

Whats going to happen when Fury Fox disappears?

This one seems to be taking its time. Later in the year they'll rush in but not as quickly as their Aberdeen counterparts.

Two remarkably durable replacements were sent on by a kind PON owner in Atlanta. One has already become Sophie's constant indoor companion.

Don't think I've ever even seen a Skye Terrier.

Good to hear that a Furry Fox has become Sophie's companion. A change from stealing Bob's, and tearing it to shreds. Could be our girl is growing up and finally learning to appreciate toys? What next - not stealing Bob's kibbles ?

The picture of brother and sister playing tug-a-toy is way too cute! The cats do have a friendly look about them!

The Old Farmer is off again...I do love how he goes off on his adventures.
His cats are two cuties and I'm sure they appreciate your kindness of feeding them while he's away.
Hope you have managed to get the "parfum de chat" from your clothes/body/aura by now.....lol.
Interesting read on saving the Skye Terriers from extinction.
