Truly Sisyphean.

Bob is having a 'wild' hair morning.

A fleet of Mercedes vans arrive at the chateau. The German billionaires are on their way to France for Christmas.

Loic, the heavily bifocaled gardener, blows leaves into piles. The PONs follow him round the garden de-piling. Loic is blissfully unaware of their presence. With helpers like these his task is truly Sisyphean .

The weather remains idyllic. The waterfall, which is usually in full flow at this time of the year, has dried up completely.

In the afternoon Father Christmas comes to the little market town on the fast TGV from Paris ( or to be more precise the next station down the line ). The platforms are thronged with four years olds. The local schools have closed early to let the little ones enjoy the spectacle. A number of four year old males show a fascination with the edge of the platform and the rails. Their teachers wear the sort of tortured faces that hint they will never do this again.

In the station cafe they've set up a piano. An attractive young lady, waiting for the 15.32 to Bordeaux, sits down and plays this. Simple, beautiful and every so slightly out of tune - as only a station piano can be.

The TGV? So much more efficient than reindeer!
Cheers, Gail.

But the TGV isn't the same is it?
How civilised to be able to calm the savag'd brow with such beautiful music whilst waiting for the 15:32!

If there was a piano in a station cage piano near us it would have been already vandalized. Such is life.

Looking at Bob's photo again, we don't think we've ever seen him look so dishevelled ! Poor chap - he's obviously having one of Sophie's bad hair days.

A lot of static electricity around? Love Bob's wild look. He may, at last, be able to frighten pilgrims. Can't imagine a station with a piano of any sort.

I love the idea of a station piano. It makes me think of slightly grainy, black and white movies starring people like Leslie Howard.

Without the aid of coffee this morning, I thought Sophie had colored her hair! Then to realize it was Bob, was even more of a shock! Finally the sweet music calmed me down. We have a train track running through our neighborhood. Wish Santa could ride on our train!
