Two different moods.

Bob is in a ' I is a happy boy ' mood.

Sophie is in a ' Why is no one paying attention to me ? ' mood.

Sophie's mood music is noisier than her brothers.

The little market town humming. It's not only the Brits who stop work for two weeks over Christmas.

There is something in the Calvinist DNA that finds sitting out in the sun in December irredeemably  naughty.

On our way back to the car we're passed by a Santa on stilts, an unsmiling man in a top hat playing drums and a rather inept juggler. Surprisingly they don't ask for money. In fact they seem to be remarkably noncommercial.

In the window of one of those upmarket furniture stores a set of Alessi Christmas baubles. Hard to imagine you could do much that's new with tree ornaments but these are rather stylish.

At nearly $25 a piece they're not selling. We'll wait until they're in the January sales.

And here is a jolly little Swedish Christmas number to kick off the day with a smile :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2DU5yOJD1E

Another best day ever - Bob's hair says it all, but no doubt Sophie had the last woof !
Nonsense Angus, there is nothing to feel guilty about - just enjoy - that's what retirement is all about.

The picture of Bob is so beautiful and Sophie is always charming. The ornaments are very imaginative. I would be extremely tempted to buy more than one (on sale). Thank you for a happy look into life in deepest France profonde.

Love the Alessi ornaments!!! Which brings me to ask about the condition of your Christmas tree? Have Bob and Sophie become bored with seeing it? Has the font read Edward's Christmas book, in her different voices, to the PONs?

With 4 cats in our house and a rambunctious 7 month old pup - those baubles cannot even be considered. They are very lovely though!

I particularly like the pig? (not sure - the ears are throwing me) and the sheep. Not so keen on the price tag!

I liked the Alessi pig too and thought "Hmmmm. maybe I can find one online". Then I scrolled down and saw the price. Uh-uh. Nope. Not without a price slash.
