Not done in silence.

There's a gale blowing outside. Winter has arrived. The angelic duo wait patiently for their days excitement to begin.

The roof tilers are back at work on the Salle des Fetes. Madame Bay says that the village hall is to undergo a major 'upgrade'. This will take four or five months - the exact timing left somewhat vague. It is to be hoped that the hole in the ground lavatory will part of the 'upgrade'.

Down in the little market town the letter box to Father Christmas is still in place and lit. In France the Post Office is required by law to reply to all letters sent to Santa Claus. Special official postcards are produced for this purpose. There are those who think this quaint. Angus, who notices that the price of stamps has just gone up by 7%, thinks there may be better and more efficient uses of the Postman's time.

Another seasonal tradition. The supermarket has put on display its collection of stuffed animals. A particularly ferocious badger shows its fangs over the meat counter.

In the afternoon the PONs play ' Throw the Furry Fox ' along the hall. This is not done in silence.

It's a very  uneventful and very wet day in deepest, deepest France profonde.

Goodness, the sight of those stuffed animals is enough to make me vegetarian !
Is a game of "Throw the Furry Fox" meant to be played in silence?

We think throw the badger might be fun! Stamps here just rose from 70c to $1 and if you add another 50c, it'll be delivered more quickly....

Gail always warned me to steer well clear of badgers.
Now I see why.
Toodle pip!

What a great space for dog exercise! It's at least five rugs long to execute stops and turns.

Perhaps 'Rugger' would be a more apt term for indoor 'Throw the furry fox'?

Your hall is a beautiful space with lovely rugs.

The animals in the supermarket are a bit scary, would put me off my food.

Nice idea from the Post Office, but like you I would object to the increase in prices.

The perfect end to a perfect day, a game of 'throw the furry fox'

If the stuffed animal display didn't warn me away from the meat aisle, I don't know what would. The hall is lovely and looks tailor-made for certain indoor sporting events.

Seeing those animals would make me head to the pasta aisle!

I have to agree with you about the postage. Our office no longer sends "reminder" postcards, instead it's all done via e-mail and text messages.

Speaking of the mail, did my parcel mailed before Christmas ever make it to your time zone?
