Adoring fans.

The Bozos are here in force. The new septic tanks are eased into the ground. The old ones are 'drained'. The experts come to oversee the installation of the filtration system. '' It'll handle ten thousand litres a day " says a man in a hard hat. Angus thinks ten thousand litres of effluent sounds a lot but there again his knowledge of drainage works is limited.

The attractive young lady from the water company arrives to issue a certificate of conformity. The French are very keen on certificates of conformity. Her arrival causes the morose lads to become less morose. She informs Monsieur Bozo that she can't issue the certificate until the work is completed. He tries to charm her. He fails. She leaves.

In the middle of all this Loic the heavily bifocaled gardener arrives . '' Having work done ? " he inquires jauntily. Loic is set to work weeding the lavender borders.

At the end of the day Monsieur Bozo comes to tell me '' we have a problem ". He's discovered another septic tank that no one knew existed. He kneels on the ox track and points to a hole with three pipes leading into it. Angus peers in. '' I hadn't budgeted for this " Monsieur Bozo says in a way that makes it clear that the estimate was just that.

The PONs are taking all of this remarkably well.

Sophie thinks the activity must be something to do with adoring fans coming to see her.

To avoid a repeat of yesterdays widdling accident Bob is taken for a walk every hour , on the hour.

We now have the weekend to ourselves before the onslaught starts again on Monday. Yesterdays eye watering odour has gone.

Your first sentence makes me giggle aloud . Their family name and the way a fine mess seems to accompany them in a Laurel & Hardy like fashion is just way more amusing than it should be to a grown woman.

I think stoic is a fitting description for the look on Bob's face in that last photo. No doubt a look echoed by the rest of the long-suffering inhabitants of the ROF.
Angus, are you going to open a book on how many (previously uncharted)septic tanks the Bozo band find? Shall we be invited to place bets?

The PONs equanimity may be related to their freedom from having to worry about concepts like budgets.

The attractive young lady from the water company having to revisit later, unaccounted existing septic tanks...hmmm...a pattern of rising costs is emerging already.
Careful treading required - and not just around the earthworks!

I love the first photo of Bob and Sophie overseeing the septic tank installation work...maybe they should issue the certificate of conformity.
So sorry that another problem has surfaced....let Mr. Bozo know that you hadn't budgeted for that either.
Hang in there. Enjoy the weekend.

I appreciate how much earth has been displaced to accommodate the new tanks, but imagined they would be sunk deeper. Will those two top caps be underground?

In the first photo, Bob and Sophie might be admiring excavation on such a large scale. Sophie in particular seems to be taking careful note. This is digging in the garden that PONS can fully respect.

At least they have the right equipment .....

Cost ? What's the difference between a medium sized Peugeot and a small Mercedes ?

This is all PON heaven.

The tanks are six feet down, what you see are two inspection hatches. What has surprised us is the small swarm of ventilation tubes that now grace the lawn. That was never mentioned.
