Heavily weighted.

Seeing the limitless enthusiasm of a dog at the start of a new day. One of lifes simplest pleasures.

Bob oozes happiness. Sophie is more restrained.

The duo undertake a high speed tour of the garden to ensure that there are no C-A-T-S about

As the sun rises Sophie settles down to look for moles. Her hunting technique is heavily weighted towards enthusiasm at the expense of stealth. The moles have nothing to fear.

We stop to see what was on the menu at the primary school children last week. Local bread a staple of the diet.

Nothing at the cinema grabs our attention. It's either Angry Birds or a battle between super heroes.

So starts a quiet Saturday morning with dogs in deepest, deepest France profonde.

The Queens 90th birthday service in St.Pauls included this reading ( at the 2:23:00 stage ) by another sprightly 90 year old. It made me smile as did the 'special occassion' hats of the huge number of 90 year old ladies in the congregation :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JqvyeCwhK4

One hopes that the villagers are not woken by Sophie's enthusiastic dawn hunts for moles....

It will be sad for the country when we lose the Queen, but for me, Sir David Attenborough will be the bigger loss. What a wonderful, wonderful man he is, and how much he has contributed to our lives over the years.
Cheers, Gail.

PS On yesterday's performance, Sir David may be brightening our lives for many years to come.

I am surprised moles want to venture into your territory, regardless of the efficacy of the PONS. Moles seem to appreciate solitude.

It's too bad that Todd and Sophie can't hang out together - Todd just caught a mole this morning.

Hello, stopping by from Bertie's blog.
The Queen's birthday celebration was lovely to see. Sir David was amazing.
We hunt with enthusiasm too, not managed to catch anything yet though.

Morning coffee usually has to wait until morning dog enthusiasm abates.

Sophie? More restrained? Are we talking about the same Sophie? She must have just eaten.
HM at Trooping. Wasn't she marvelous. She made sure she wouldn't blend in the balcony crowd. One could follow her every move. The woman can certainly enthrall.

That school menu certainly beats the vegemite or Peck's Paste sandwich that I remember from childhood. Actually, it rivals what I usually get now which is cheese and tomato on toast or something similar. I love the recognition of local produce.

In some ways the French still get their priorities right.
