Stay indoors.

The roar of an engine and the scent of diesel fumes signal it's time to shut the windows and close the shutters.

The farmer arrives in the field across the lane with a combine harvester, a tractor and a white van. The white van has a sign on the roof saying Convoi Agricole.

The combine cuts the wheat. A baler picks up the straw and bundles it. Another truck comes and takes the bales away. A truck takes the grain to the silo.

The ensemble is joined by a green tractor which scours the field.

By nightfall the farmer and his team have gone. All manner of finches arrive  to glean what's left. They chatter happily away until it's dark.

Some of the bales are stacked and turned into a straw castle to advertise a local fete.

It is suggested that the PONs stay indoors to avoid the noise and dust. This suggestion is ignored. They sit on their wooden table and 'oversee'.

It's been a great day for barking at farmers, tractors and combines. In fact it's probably been the most exciting day ever. Today's going to be even better.

Love the straw castle. Will Bob and Sophie be attending the fete?

That castle is too much!

That is the best advertisement for a fete that I have ever seen.

That castle is brilliant - so clever !
Just imagine if Bob and Sophie attend the fĂȘte - somewhere, someone is bound to be cooking sausages...

After spending the day barking full on, Bob and Sphie may enjoy a little tea with cream for sore throats.
Delightful little straw castle. Very creative.

What a wonderful time for the finches; the evening picture is very peaceful. I love the straw castle, too.

Bet Sophie would love to get into the stubble to look for little creatures...

So, does this mean you live across the lane from a castle?

If there are sausages - yes.

Use it as advertising then dismantle it and let the cows eat what's left.

And the raw materials cost nothing.

And Bob would like to 'dethreat' all the bales.

Only until it's disassembled.
