I bought one that listed either chicken or lamb as the first ingredient and was formulated for an older dog (Healthy Weight formula). I also open up a 3-6-9 or flax seed capsule and pour on his food before serving.<br />When he starts digging at his ears as if there's no tomorrow, I pour a little mineral oil inside and massage it well into the ear canal. Whatever mites may be hanging out there are immediately smothered. Mites are more active at night so check whether your little one is scratching the ears more in the evening. Best of luck.VirginiaChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17282569773671179047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-860373600653353661.post-28497107949534788392013-09-06T04:19:40.751+02:002013-09-06T04:19:40.751+02:00Oh my... Also, since being here he has had a few more meaty treats than usual (as have we), so I think I am going to try and restrict him to kibble for a week and see if that helps too. To begin with we thought it might be mites. Finally, we discovered that it was food allergies and cut back on his protein intake while using an ear cleaner. Have you tried cleaning his ears out with Zymox or Zymox Extra Strength ear cleaner? Not sold in Europe which means ordering from the US but worth the hassle. It's a PON owners best friend ! We also found that Advantix is better than Frontline for dealing with ticks. Wilf was allergic to Advantix as is Sophie - theyboth suffered nerve spasms. He was given a full dose of Frontline mid August and in my desperation to help him, I have just given him another. I have added a special oil to his kibble and have bought a natural anti-itch shampoo from the US.
