Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain.

During my absence Bob and Sophie have not been well behaved.

3.30 am on the first night Bob starts howling. 'The font' gets up to let him out. From the noise he's making it's clearly an urgent matter.  What does he do ? He rushes out of the door and positions himself in front of the garden gate. He then refuses to move. A very definite '' I've lost one of the flock and had better go and find him ! " defiance. Bob declines to come back inside. Finally, 'the font' goes to get a rice cake from the kitchen. This does the trick. Sophie sleeps on. She has a '' my flock can wait until the morning " approach to herding. She does however wake long enough to let it be known that she too wants a rice cake.

  2. Oh dear Angus, better hurry home, those City men in dark suits won't be howling in the middle of the night if you abandon them.

  3. How sweet this boy - totally loyal. Get home quick - with our best wishes for the complete flock - Susanne, Daisy, Kiri and Daisy

  4. Young rascal, but so heartwarming that he is anxious for your safe return. I think Bob is the worrier of the two; perhaps it is a boy-Pon trait.
Is that a picture of Tower Bridge from yesterday? The rain here in London was very heavy. Merlin enjoyed a very gloopy walk on the edges of Epping Forest. The dog-mobile requires some attention today.
I must see if Merlin likes rice cakes.

  5. "Not well behaved?" Totally impossible says Brownie raising his paw in a high five in agreement with the 3.30am wander around outside.
Loved the photo of the Tower Bridge.

  7. I have a feeling there will be several very happy family members when you get home, probably 'the font' more than anyone!

  8. Bob's farm boy instincts kick in when one his flock is missing. No Angus! Quite a serious event, you know. Bob is feeling like he's failed at his
    job.
Maybe some very special treats will
    comfort him and convince him
    otherwise.

  9. Dare we ask that the Font please film Bob's reaction when he meets you at the airport? It should be quite sweet, loud..but sweet.

  10. I think you should find a way to get the men in dark suits into deepest France profonde to spend some time PONdering the state of the world. It might be a huge step toward international equanimity.
