Mrs. Garrigues pig.
First light. Bob and Sophie are waiting in the courtyard . Bob gives me his '' what's keeping you ? '' look.
The old farmer is selling mushrooms from a trestle table at his front door. An unusual development.
Mid afternoon. The lady in the purple hat, the mayor and three members of the Village Fleuri committee can be seen clustered round the war memorial. A ceremony to unveil a trough of blue, white and red pansies in honour of the 70th anniversary of the American invasion of Provence. The poor attendance down to the fact that the lady with the beehive hairdo has forgotten to post out the invites to the villagers. If we'd known we'd have gone.
In the local paper a story about the visit of Madame Garrigue, her dog, her rabbit and her pig to the old folks home. The dog and rabbit are pictured. Perhaps the pig wasn't as well received .
The charm of life in deepest, deepest France profonde.
Yes, the concept of a 'therapy pig' is perhaps not the best of ideas...
ReplyDeleteMushrooms! We weren't sure what those were.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the pig had another engagement ... ;-)
ReplyDeleteHope there is good news for the Very Old Farmer.
Bob and Sophie would love the therapy pig - if only in "sausage" sessions. Thank you very, very much for sharing your daily observations and pictures of the flora and fauna of France profonde.
ReplyDeleteThought the mushrooms were hamburger buns at first. Mrs. Garrigues must have a very interesting home.
ReplyDeleteAmazing champignons!
ReplyDeleteThe lady with the beehive hairdo needs to be given some other kind of task to carry out besides mailing out invites.....she is terrible at it.
ReplyDeleteAnimals have a way of bringing cheer to the elderly and the sick....works every time.
