Cashmere jumpers are not PON proof. However, they are a great ( if expensive and unintended ) source of delight.
The supermarket Christmas display features a wild boar and a fox. A taxidermists joy. The fox, understandably, looks decidedly unhappy. Marzipan stuffed dates appear in the aisles. Boxes and boxes of them. A French thing. Can't remember ever seeing them in Scotland.
The Old Farmer has been busy. In addition to the star and the lights round the gutters a line of flashing bulbs now dangles between his balcony and the garage. The PON duo watch the Old Farmer put up the new lights in almost silent amazement.
This morning we stop at the Very Old Farmers kitchen window for a chat. A stunning 7.50 am sunrise. '' Nothing to beat the beauty of that " he says. I agree. Bob gets a tousle. Sophie forages by the down pipe for something unspeakable. The district nurse shoos us away.
Unremarked and unremarkable things that make life with young dogs such a pleasure.
Awestruck by the demolition job on the cashmere sweater! And the supermarket's Christmas display.
ReplyDeleteDemolition like that is a very special skill !
DeleteThat taxidermist display is enough to turn one Vegetarian.
ReplyDeleteVegetarian ? In France profonde ?
DeleteNothing says Christmas like taxidermy.
ReplyDeleteA seasonal collection of stuffed animals is de rigeur in every French supermarket.
DeleteAngus, sorry to tell you but I laughed at the demise of your poor cashmere sweater...its remnants reminded me of a burst pinata with its spilled contents....Bob and Sophie did a fantastic job.
ReplyDeleteNot too keen on the wild animal display....at first I thought they were depicting the meat being offered for sale.
The Very Old Farmer is a dear fellow, he still appreciates the glory of a new day...sunrise.
Never put the dry cleaning down on a low chair .....
DeleteThank you Virginia for asking about my dear cat. You have a kind heart and gentle soul. It still touch and go I'm afraid. God bless you.
DeleteOh but I thought there we firms that claimed to be able to fix anything wrong with cashmere?
ReplyDeleteOur buyer was delighted to buy a stuffed fox for our next show. Best not let her see that wild boar!
Perhaps she's like the baby deer? Bambi must have a different meaning here.
DeleteYou will be picking pink bits out of the gravel for days!
ReplyDeleteCan't say that I am fond of those stuffed animals.
Happy to hear that the VOF continues to be in good spirit.

Days ? More like months.
DeleteOnly the best for Bob and Sophie.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the taxidermy display, I'm totally speechless, and it's not because it's early for me.
Maybe Walmart will try it next year ?
DeleteCan't imagine the taxidermy display in an American grocery store, where people think meat grows in Styrofoam trays and milk in oblong boxes.
ReplyDeleteIs that a "sushi" sign just behind the pheasant? Beware, lest the store start displaying stuffed fish, too.
Sushi it is. A three month trial . So far the only person I've seen buying any is 'the font '.
DeleteThe locals clearly consider it to be 'foreign'. Or in other words - suspect.
The sweater colour is quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteDeyrolle need not worry.
The taxidermy animals in the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteSerious lure towards vegetarianism.
Affirmation right there of my decision to stop eating animals!
