Where have they gone ?
'The Font' has developed a painful frozen shoulder and heads off to London before first light for a 'procedure'. Bob and Sophie come to the realisation that the standard of cuisine on offer will plummet - precipitously.
Hot. 34 degrees today. 36 forecast. Perfect weather for drying out the new concrete and its zig zag paw prints. Sophie very sensibly splits her day equally between snoozing in the cool hallway ...
... and joining her brother in watching for passing pilgrims.
There's no sign of the builders. Having worked for fourteen days in a row they've now disappeared. It would have been good if they'd finished off what they came to do before going.
Poor Bob and Sophie. No furry fox throwing builders and no fabulous food from 'the font'. How will they survive?
ReplyDeleteBacon sandwiches.
DeleteOh well....suppose you can think positively that nothing will be broken until they return.
ReplyDeleteThe PONs might have other ideas.
DeleteI hope the font gets some relief for her shoulder. As a former sufferer I can vouch for how painful and inconvenient it is.
ReplyDeleteI think that was when I discovered that the best painkiller available is champagne!
Hard luck about the builders.
All seems to be going well. Champagne, for purely medicinal purposes, may be a good way to celebrate.
DeleteHope the procedure brings some relief to the Font
ReplyDeleteBut, I'm sure the Pons will enjoy a bacon buttie or two?
Let's hope it does the trick.
DeleteThe PONs will cope with bacon and sausage for a night or two.
I believe the concrete slab needs to cure properly before proceeding, so maybe the builders are off on another job while it cures.
ReplyDeleteHoping that the Font's procedure goes okay and she'll be back home soon.
Bacon sandwiches for lunch?
I'd like to think they're taking a 'curing' break but wouldn't like to bet on it !
DeleteFirst the beer and absinthe crowd, then the builders, and now 'the font' is gone. Am I the only one that sees a trend here?
ReplyDeleteThank heavens Bob and Sophie are immovable !
DeleteHope the Font makes a speedy recovery,
ReplyDeletePS there is nothing wrong with the occasional bacon sandwich or a good fry up.
Bob and Sophie agree that bacon is one of the worlds greatest delicacies.
DeleteCome to that so does Angus.
DeleteMaybe the young morose builder's lad has made enough for his deposit for his new car, and they are all taking a day or two off to celebrate?
ReplyDeleteWe hope all goes well for the 'Font', and she is soon back to raise the culinary standards at ROF. Even bacon butties can be tiring for every meal !
The 20 year old VW convertible might be behind the absence. Let's hope he's worked long enough to pay the insurance !
DeleteFingers crossed 'the font's' shoulder is repaired - those are never fun....
ReplyDeleteToo hot to work perhaps?
The PONs and their master think so.
DeleteSausages.... did you mention sausages Angus.? Anyone could cope with bacon and SAUSAGES for more than a night or two!! Oh bliss!!
ReplyDeleteThe little paw prints will be a visible part of the house'so history.
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts and prayers are with the font.
