Waiting for Godot.

The builders show up to say it's too wet and windy to work on the roof. '' We'll be back when it's dry " they add , noncommittally. The PONs go into their wet morning routine.

Return from your walk. Get toweled dry. Go into the kitchen and get given a piece of toast. Ignore comments about 'wet doggy smells'.  Follow your owners , closely, wherever they go. Whenever possible sit and stare expectantly. Do not blink.

Wait for something exciting to happen.

This morning excitement takes the form of a game of touch rugby. This lasts until Sophie disappears downstairs with the oval ball. Bob will spend the rest of the morning trying to retrieve it.

  1. Bob and Sophie have such serious, yet questioning, expressions on their sweet faces. They seem to know the rainy day routine well. However, if the sun comes out, this could be the best day ever !!!

    1. As far as the PONs are concerned it will be the best day ever even if the sun doesn't come out.

  2. We know the 'follow and stare' routine. Use it all the time...rain or shine.

  3. Good to hear that Bob and Sophie are limbering up for the Rugby World Cup. Scotland may be needing some substitutes, given the team's lack of strength in depth….

    1. As far as the Scotland team goes you could have just said lack of strength. We all live in hope !

  4. Love the follow and stare thing. We get it all the time - the closer to dinner the more it happens.

  5. I don't mind going out in the rain, but mum wont take me -- mostly cos she is concerned about getting her wheelchair wet. I DO NOT like thunderstorms though. I do know about the "stare". Because the ground is still too hot to take me with her much of the time, I will stand and give her the "are you really leaving me behind AGAIN" look. Doesn't do me any good, but still, might as well make her feel guilty -- bol.

    1. Oh Cookie, it's a pity we don't live near to you, then you could come with us on our walks. Then Mum needn't worry about getting her chair wet. We've got lots and lots of towels to get you dry afterwards too !

    2. Look at it this way - Staying inside has some advantages. You're never far from the kitchen !
