Man has no pity.

Another of those 'the dawn came up like thunder' mornings. The sky surreally bright. It must be something to do with El Nino. Colours you'd expect to see in Mauritania , not southern France.

The PONs return from their early morning walk in fine fettle. Bob settles down and stares at me as if to say ' and what are we going to do now ? '

In the dress makers window a small hand written sign : " The Fairy's are sad. Man is without pity ". No indication of what this might mean . Is it a comment on the first anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo attack ?

Bob and Sophie introduce themselves to the petanque players in the garden by the river. The petanque players ignore them. This doesn't seem to bother the PONs who are eyeing up a discarded sandwich.

On our way home Bob does his best to de-threat the trees on the river bank. Too many even for a PON boy. His sister skips along ahead of him. Every so often she turns and yelps at him to get a move on. It's been a great day.

  1. This year is already shaping up well, with lots of best days ever, and joy overload in abundance. That last photo is so evocative of France

  2. "Dawn came up like thunder". Here it's more like "the blasted English drizzle wakes the fever in my bones"…
    Beautiful photos today.
    Cheers, Gail.

    1. Petanque lends itself to being painted. It is not a fast moving sport !

    1. The sunrises and sunsets this year are quite out of the ordinary. The hues three tones deeper.

  5. Arizona colours.
Why are PON noses so delightful?

    1. Would like to agree but when I took the family to Arizona it poured 24/7 for 14 days so we didn't see any sunrises. We did however discover the Indian reservations aren't as romantic as you migh imagine.

  7. Such lovely pictures. The little sign is so full of sadness. I love the PONs' bright eyes.

  8. Oh that last paragraph is so familiar. There are a lot of maple trees in our park. Edward visits every one. Apple is impatient. Always.

  10. I think that all Bob needed a refreshing bowl of water to finish the task.
