Fruitless pursuit.
Bob is off after a c-a-t. The c-a-t turns left out of the gate and is long gone but this doesn't stop the male PON from turning right and hurtling along the lane in happy ( but fruitless ) pursuit.
Sophie and her master follow on, sedately, behind.
Sophie is keen to have a drink from the small ditch by the horse field. The water level has fallen sharply and she is unsure how to get to the water.
She finally settles on an extreme rump in the air approach. I tell her this is most unladylike. She's not bothered.
The verges a riot of colour. This year is going to be a banner year for wild flowers. The early rising bees would agree.
Enormous white asparagus in the greengrocers. Perfect with boiled potatoes and ham.

Often the enjoyment is in the chase! Tearing after animal scents is fun in itself.
ReplyDeleteAnd a chance to howl gratuitously !
DeleteMiss Sophie is rather unladylike in her pursuits. She dies live ditches and digging.

ReplyDeleteLooks like such a beautiful day for a walk. Sophie, we think it's not too unladylike for just a little drink with your rump in the air approach. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

Bob and and Bertie are clearly on a par when it comes to comes to hunting skills...
ReplyDeleteThank you for the clip of young Harry. I've sent it on to someone who lives near Gold Beach. We owe those young men and women a great deal.
