A real winter storm whistles round the house. Shutters rattle and down pipes gurgle. It pours all day and it pours all night. After a quick start of morning venture into the garden for a comfort break, Sophie returns to the library where she does a good impersonation of a dog that's never been near a brush or a comb in its life.
It goes without saying that the lawyers are on holiday all this week. Why did I ever think they might be working ? The saga of the dog car replacement will have to wait until next Tuesday when they return. It is improbable that work on the dog car will accelerate between now and the New Year.
Dog owners will both understand appreciate the human kindness in this :https://twitter.com/RachaelRuble/status/1343428171820130310
We have moved on to this stage with the turkey left overs . Sophie approved : https://www.benaresrestaurant.com/recipes/turkey-biryani/

That turkey recipe sounded wonderful. Worth arranging left-overs for!
ReplyDeleteSophie certainly thought so ! Having discovered turkey and gravy the road back to kibbles will be hard .
DeleteOne admires the commitment of the Oratorio singers, standing socially distanced in the New York winter cold, singing into their face masks.
ReplyDeleteSinging in a mask is indeed a labour of love.
DeleteA gale force wind again here last night, but thankfully no rain. This morning it's still windy and I once again can sympathise with Sophie!
ReplyDeleteWith hindsight grey carpets may have been a more sensible choice Angus, but perhaps you can have them cleaned? Then put down a layer of plastic, before you return the blankets. I fear this may be your only option. It sounds as though you are in for a long battle with lawyers and the chance of a replacement car. Having dished out such advice, my car is completely black inside - upholstery and carpets - and Inca has creamy coloured fur which she sheds constantly!
Never have a dog car and a human car. They all end up being dog cars .
DeleteBoth your cars ending up as dog cars is just as it should be... proof our dogs and the happiness our dogs bring us is more important than white carpet covered in dirt and fur. Cars will always be replaceable. Car carpet will always be replacable - but all adventures and every moment spent with our four legged friends is priceless.
DeleteWe'd love to have a gully washer rainstorm like that here in Texas. Basically just a few pitiful showers since early May. Just hoping the trees can hold on.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you should consider using Volvo's Facebook page as a means of addressing your grievances. A very public forum which would be difficult to ignore on their part.

ReplyDeleteLoved the Oratorio (Noted recorded in October, so not overly cold, but still...) The caps of the Cowal hills as seen from the Hutch are dusted like mince pies with white. The rest of the place is the usual dun. And it is freezing. YAM xx
The saga of the dog car is infuriating, seems to me that Volvo should provide you with a new car, not merely repair it. Additionally a complete detail of the big car's interior should be part of the settlement, Happy New Year and good luck.
ReplyDeleteShe’s adorable in all weather/fur conditions. The music piece brought back find memories of high school choir and us going up and down the many stairs of the school (old building with great acoustics) singing this piece.
