When we were there, a lot of the athletes competing in the Commonwealth Games were training there, which was cool Nottingham is on the conversion program list, by the way. Cold weather solidifies the chocolate coating. Snap the Jaffa Cake in two and the thin layer of chocolate then breaks into small, easily removable, pieces. In the heat of more soujterly climes all that happens is the Jaffa Cake gets soggy and the chocolate melts.Angushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13905037014736070475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-860373600653353661.post-62321024305167907752022-11-08T10:58:30.082+01:002022-11-08T10:58:30.082+01:00Lisa - Loughborough has long had an excellent repu...Lisa - Loughborough has long had an excellent reputation for sports science and psychology. But I have to say that, of all the university towns mentioned above, it is perhaps the least attractive as a place for parents to visit, notwithstanding the amazing sports facilities! I say this as a native East Midlander, having been raised in Nottingham, just 15 miles away.<br />Cheers, Gail. My husband is an economist, and I recall thinking what a view they must have. My son, after spending nearly four years in rural Ohio, is thinking about Scotland again. He wants to do graduate studies in Sports Psychology, a field in which the UK seems to lead the world, but he may need a "conversion" degree in psychology from a UK school as a starting point. Not all schools offer these degrees, but St. Andrews, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow all do. We the parents are all in favor of more trips to Scotland.
