Bob and Sophie give them their supposedly terrifying ' and where do you think you're going with that ? ' look.
The delivery men are unperturbed. They plumb in the new machine and cart off the old one. The process completed within ten minutes. Sophie is told she's a 'honey' by the man who plumbs in the machine. She glares at him from beneath her fringe.
It's only after they've gone that we notice that they've headed off with the Japanese solar system door magnets. Bob is unimpressed. Anyone passing a Muji store in Tokyo please contact us urgently.
The special needs children are dancing on the village green all afternoon. They love this song. Their unburdened joy makes me smile. I'm humbled by the tenderness of the young carers and staff . Kindness and patience in combination are great virtues:
Those men came and went in ten minutes? No snacks for Sophie? No throwing the Furry Fox? This is an outrage.
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
Don't complain if a French workman is finished in tn minutes !
DeleteOh no, not the solar system magnets - Bob must be bereft - how will he start his day off properly? Surely you can buy them online Angus - or from a store either in London or somewhere in the States?
ReplyDeleteThey seem to be no longer made. Certainly not on the UK or French websites.
DeleteOh that's so sad - have you tried ringing the dishwasher store to retrieve the old ones?
DeleteBy the way, that's one very fancy dishwasher !
ReplyDeleteWith a plethora of menus that will never be used.
Deletenot to worry ANGUS - there are several MUJI stores right in Paris - and they have online ordering.
ReplyDeleteBut horror of horrors, no solar system fridge magnets.
DeleteOh no, what will Bob be poking his nose in to now?
ReplyDeleteA life without fridge magnets to biff will be very quiet.
DeleteOHhhh noooo! We will miss Bob rearranging them in the mornings. The new dishwasher looks posh.
ReplyDeleteSo posh it's impractical. Whatever happened to 'load it up, press the button and twenty minutes later it's done' technology ?
DeleteI think that went out shortly after the Ark, Angus!
DeleteI wish to point out, the first picture would make me wonder what the duo are capable of doing, should I be a delivery person. Well done Bob and Sophie!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the 'quake in your shoes ' look.
DeleteNothing at muji.us...
ReplyDeleteNor in the European ones. Only in the Japanese stores now.
DeleteWithout Bob in charge of the Solar System goodness knows what will happen to the weather around the world.
ReplyDeleteA lengthy El Nino ?
DeleteCan you chase the workers down to see where the dishwasher is presently?
ReplyDeleteIf only delivery men would answer their mobile phone the world would be a more perfect place.
DeleteWithout Bob's deft arrangement of the solar system, the fate of the world has just grown even more uncertain.
ReplyDeleteSomething for us all to PONder.
DeleteOh no, oh no, oh no...not Bob's solar system. Can't you call them and have them mail them back to you? Bob must be so unhappy....we need to make his world right again.
ReplyDeleteGetting a French workman to show up is hrd enough. Getting them to come back a second time .....
DeleteCan't believe the solar system is gone!
ReplyDeleteEarth shattering !
DeleteI've asked a friend in Toronto to check the store there. I will let you know if we can make Bob happy.
