Sophie stands at the front door and drinks in the new day and the new year.
She intends to start 2018 as she means to carry on ...... generating mischief.
Her big brother follows her out, pauses briefly, then hurries into the orchard in search of c-a-t-s.
All is well with the world so today will ( if the cafe is open and croissants have been baked ) quite probably be the best day ever.

I am faintly surprised to find that we've made it to now, to a year that once seemed far, far away. May it continue to be the best day ever for everyone.
