What is it telling us ?
Scudding clouds and occasional patches of blue sky this morning. A pleasant change from the near continuous downpours of recent days. Spring is in the air.
A morning for Sophie to play 'biff the watering cans'. She pushes one over with her nose. It falls on the gravel with a satisfying thunk. She then looks at me before moving on to biff a second. What greater joy than mischief and noise co-joined ? She pushes a third can over before deciding it's time to head off on our morning constitutional.
The strawberries at the greengrocers are suffering from a lack of sunshine and a surfeit of rain. They have that slightly squishy texture to them. We buy three punnets.
The sky has turned grey by the time we're on our way home. Heaven alone knows what the motorway gantry sign is trying to tell us this morning.
On the television the Crufts dog show. A brief glimpse of a relation of Wilf and Digby. Hats off to anyone who keeps their PONs hair this long. It must be a 24/7 job.
And a wee something to make Scots everywhere smile : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6mkEtdnEGQ
This sign of the times by a no nonsense Scottish lady also made me smile : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwD1-FNUf3M
I wonder whether the relative of Wilf and Digby is every allowed to play in mud puddles?
ReplyDeleteI thought of you and Sophie when I saw this - it could be worse! https://twitter.com/humorandanimals/status/1235586836678000641
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link and good luck with Cherry's visit to the vet today. Stay strong !
DeleteGreat result for Scotland yesterday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThe strawberries sound like the ones sold from the Torridon community garden.
Did you see the victory lap of the wire haired dachshund at Cruft. Well worthy of the film 'Best in Show'!

ReplyDeleteFabulous result yesterday in a slightly strange game - but Scotlands consistency of play payed off! Go Sophie, a little biff and boff gets things started! YAM xx
I have an empty plastic container with a lid that needs to be put away, and its been sitting for a couple of days, and everytime our dog Sunny walks past it, he flips up the lid. Is Sophie's biffing the watering cans and Sunny flipping up the lid, their showing their sense of humor?
ReplyDeleteWe love strawberry season - enjoy them while you can. For us it is a sign that Christmas is on the way.
ReplyDeleteAbout Biffing and Boffing: we had a wonderful grand dog named Cheddar who loved to savage snowmen. We would build them just to see her have fun with them. Lovely memory of our one English Golden girl. We send love, prayers and best wishes for Cherry's health. XXX
ReplyDeletePerhaps 'biff the watering cans' is an indication that you are very slow to start the walk. And maybe strawberry coulis is the way to go...
ReplyDeleteIs that Mybeards Hero? Lovely dog. x
