Cold and bright. This morning we see two groups of deer down on the shoreline. The fawns seem to be doing well although their numbers are down which suggests that one of them at least has fallen victim to a speeding car on the fast road into town. The geese that have been heading south over the last few weeks now seem to have completely gone. The skies are quiet bar the local starlings and crows who continue to glean the wheat fields.

ReplyDeleteHave just done my grocery run for the week... Was faced with a whole shelf of fruit mince pies as I entered the store... Nnnoooooooooo!!!! YAM xx
I have already booked my Christmas lunch! Haven't seen any mince pies yet, but no doubt they will be on the shelves in the English supermarket any day now!
ReplyDeleteIs the Chinese chef the one who gave Sophie sausages?
Coppa's Girl
Sophie never met the Chinese chef. She did however meet the sausage dispensing French chef at the little hotel down the road.
DeleteI think I have masculine tastes in movies. Interesting to read about the chef at the Four Seasons Marunouchi. I used to work in that neighborhood and the hotel was a popular "power breakfast" spot. It looks like the old restaurant has been converted to an all-day "bistro" overseen by the same chef. I loved that one, as it looks directly down on the trains running in and out of Tokyo Station.
ReplyDeleteSummer is barely saying it’s farewell and Christmas items appear in the stores.
ReplyDeleteInteresting how quickly the new students settle into a routine.
