The weather remains resolutely sunny and mild. What a difference from last year when we were battered by incessant rain and howling gales. The local farmers are making the best of the weather and are fairly zipping through their cabbage harvesting.
The U.S Consul General in Edinburgh is coming to talk about Transatlantic cooperation. Perhaps not the best time to have scheduled a talk.

The wreath is indeed beautiful.
I'd love to have a go with the AI binoculars.
The pumpkins may be neglected but they have happy smiles on their faces! That is a beautiful wreath, chosen with care.
I played the video with the anthems and my dog, who had been lying quietly at my feet, whine copiously, got up and left the room.
Possibly the best ever rendition of theMarseilkause
The wreath is beautiful. Patrick Hamilton was betrayed by a supposed friend. The most horrifying fact was that he burned for six hours.
The State Department will do as much as it can, before armageddon.
The wreath is exquisite and the anthems both poignant and sobering.
Agreed, the wreath is gorgeous. I well remember that place from our tour of St. Andrews. Every US college seems to have some spot where you must not step or risk never graduating, but nothing like that. Your links have been a godsend this week as we strive not to discuss US politics over breakfast. The ants could have kept us going for a few days, but all of these new distractions are most welcome.
The Consul General must show she is doing a job. Or risk being moved or retired. Sounds a good way to live your dream with pay.
