Can't be changed.

The vase in the window of the house down by the student cafe freshly arranged this morning. Term papers can be glimpsed on the table inside. Have they been marked or are they waiting to be read and scored ? Two students are arguing on the pavement while waiting for their lattes. He's planning to fly back to Oregon on November 29th after his last exam. She has exams a week later and  wants him to stay so they can travel back together through JFK. He says he's already booked and paid for his ticket home via Seattle . They are not changeable. This answer  is not winning him brownie points. A removal of 'benefits' is on the horizon.

Lights on in a kitchen of a house facing the language laboratories. There's something very warm and inviting about an old fashioned kitchen like this.

Much excitement out here on the coast . A tomb has been discovered in the field near the heron pond. It's on a wee hill next to where the early Christian graves were found and is covered by a stone slab a metre and a half square. The local policeman has been out to confirm that the bones aren't recent. He drives up in his car, chats to an archaeologist who says they're at least four thousand years old and then drives off again. " Not my look out ". Four thousand year old tombs of this size and in this condition are rare and news of the discovery has attracted a group of senior archaeologists from Edinburgh. They park their cars as close to the excavations as they can which is easy as the dry weather has hardened up the soil. The farmers wife is there with the Jack Rusells. She's quite excited. The farmer is less thrilled. ' More paperwork ' he says somewhat grumpily.

It seems extraordinary that the tomb has not been discovered before.
The students may not remain a couple for much longer. She seems more committed than him. Love's young dream is too often a nightmare.

I seem to remember some similar window shots from last year? We all had different ideas about what was happening in the room. I think we came to the conclusion that it belonged to someone who marked the exam papers? The floral displays, were, however, always very attractive.
Oh dear, I pity the farmer if all work has to cease while that land is carefully excavated to reveal what other 4,000 year old treasures are hidden there. No doubt the farmer's wife and the Jack Russells will be keeping an eye on things!

That was from Coppa's Girl - Google are yet again messing things up!

I last flew into JFK in 1989, when it was definitely an airport you'd want to avoid if possible. By contrast, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport last Christmas was a joy (though the traffic on I-5 less so).
Cheers, Gail.

The kitchen does look so inviting and comfortable. Imagine all the talks, the tears and laughter, visits with friends, family dinners, handwritten letters to loved ones, that happened around the kitchen table. The stories it could tell.

She will have a week to prepare for that last exam without distraction. There I go be practical again. I hope the dogs don't come running with a 4,000 year old bone.

The kitchen is indeed lovely and welcoming, but I wonder how easy it is to cook there?

Enticing glimpses through the windows. I've been missing the always imaginative flower arrangements. There was also a past suggestion that the papers on the table might be part of an evolving set piece.

Coppa's girl. It happened to me too. Press the arrow and type your name where it says name then press continue. Frustrating.
