A blustery Christmas Eve. The farmers sons are up early and hard at work in the barn shifting potato crates. In one fork lift 'Puppy' is seated on the lap of the elder boy. Elder sister is in the other truck with the younger. Both dogs look remarkably happy as if scooting around a barn shifting potato crates in the early morning gloom is the most natural thing in the world.
There's a tree in full bloom outside one of the student dorms. A tree in bloom in St Andrews at Christmas ? If you look for signs of climate change look no further.'The Font' wonders how many English visitors will understand what parking 'outwith' the marked bays means. Scottish official English can be very Dickensian.

I'm firmly convinced by the science around climate change, but that tree is actually a winter-flowering one, so is meant to be doing its thing now rather than in spring.
Wishing you and "The Font" a very Merry Christmas. From "The Life of Riley" in NZ.

LOL, you just provided me another flashback to when I was an early settler down under and I still had vestiges of Scottish usage. "Outwith" had a few dumbfounded! After thirty years and returning here, my Aussieisms now cause some consternation at times... I enjoy RobWords channel, but hadn't caught up on it for a while - ta for reminding me. Excellent article on the 'strategy' of peace, too... Have a lovely Christmas Eve. YAM xx
I would be clueless on where to park. Enjoy the peaceful holiday.
