No sooner do the tables go out than a storm arrives.

The serious man at the chocolate shop is opening up as we pass. His sales are down this year. A Galaxy Easter Egg is more than double the price it was in 2023 and the wildly popular Cadburys Creme Eggs , despite a bout of 'shrinkflation' , are 80% more expensive. Having digested this news ( and noted the intensity with which it is imparted ) we wish him well and walk on quickly .

Further down the road the ever hopeful local cafe owners are setting up tables on the pavement. It goes without saying that a  storm with 90 mph winds is forecast for Saturday night.

The bakers already selling out by the time we make it back into town from the beach. The holiday makers are in town.  A solitary rhubarb flan is all that remains of the dozen that were here half an hour ago.

As we're leaving a tray of Easter Chicks emerge from the store room.  They'll all be gone in half an hour.

No comment about this headline on a paper in the supermarket. Seems the 'pearl clutching' UK  is being blamed for a war it wasn't consulted on. It also seems President Macron has also been facing some 'undiplomatic' comments.

Targeted medication is a desirable goal... however, there still very much tends to be a 'one dose suits all' attitude. What I would like to see more of is better tailoring of prescriptions. To have both the method of delivery and the practical application in tune would be a significant improvement...

Meanwhile SSEN texted me the 'batten down the hatches' message early this morning...it's so uncannily still outside The Hutch's windows just now, it's hard to believe. The calm before the storm...? YAM xx

Maybe the chocolatier and the baker should put their heads together to come up with some chocolatey post-Easter creations...you can never go wrong with chocolate!

The yellow chicks are enticing. Chocolate prices have increased around the world. Apparently the droughts are mostly to blame.

The chicks are so cute. I can only wish that the King tells someone the truth.

I think we would go with the rhubarb flan. It seems that Trump is currently alternating between making fun of Prime Minister Starmer, President Macron and Bruce Springsteen, so the Prime Minister can hopefully take comfort that he is in good company. I do not think Trump would make fun of the King, but I imagine it will nonetheless be a painful visit.

I fear that communicating with a parallel universe is beyond even the King.

After his tasteless remarks to Prime Minister Takaichi made in a "joking" manner, I don't put anything past him.

I can only comment on the Easter Chicks. They are adorable.

The King visiting the US at this time absolutely sends the wrong message. Why on earth would one choose to dignify a man who starts wars killing thousands of people, regularly disparages longtime allies with childish insults, and whines about not receiving a Nobel Peace Prize for ending 8,9, or was it 10, imaginary wars.
