A record of those unimportant little things that are too important to be forgotten.

They're off.
It's stopped raining. The PONs spend their day outside barking at 1) The Polish builders 2) the post lady and 3) the tikes. It seems the tikes, their parents and the tikes brothers and sisters ( The Font counts 8 of them, I count 9 ) are heading off for a half term skiing trip. The tikes father can be seen loading skiing equipment onto the top of the white Renault minibus. A trailer containing goodness only knows what is attached to the back. The children are herded into the rear, Mother climbs into the front passenger seat, Father walks round the minibus twice, kicks the tyres and then they're off.
Sophie's nose displays a remarkable lustrousness. This presumably comes from a diet of dessicated voles and 'recycling'
The motorway toll booth is open again. The gendarmes are on guard ( although why they never intervene to stop the barricades being built - and set alight - is something of a mystery ). The detritus from last weeks riots is till smouldering. The local radio says that the blockades are about to start again.

One wonders which particular ski area will be best avoided for the next few days...
My thoughts, too, Bertie ! Though no doubt the little village and the rest of it's inhabitants will give no thought to the tykes destination. They will just enjoy the few days of peace and quiet!

...hmmm, seems we observers of life in France Profonde are all thinking along the same ski slope today... YAM xx
I bet it was hard to hold back the tears as the minivan drove away😊
It could be another day to open a bottle of wine at lunch in celebration. (just a thought)
“Hello Silence my old friend, it’s good to hear from you again . . . The sound of Silence !”
The Tykes leaving for awhile....that can't be bad.
Good idea!
