A northerly wind.

So they've finally  installed a female Archbishop of Canterbury. It's taken 1400 years but despite the worst fears of the  traditionalist crowd the world hasn't come to an abrupt end. We catch snippets of the ceremony on the evening news. It all seems very happy and civilized. The archbishop looks relieved when it's all over and even the future King smiles  :https://youtu.be/MjLK48OWDRc?t=6746 .

Bitterly cold this morning with a strong ( and I mean strong ) northerly wind. . The air as clear as crystal. We can see all the way up the coast to Arbroath. Where the southerly tide mixes it up with the northerly wind the waves are forced upwards and form a wall of water a couple of feet high. It looks as if someone has just passed by on a jet ski.  I don't think I've ever seen this before.

The town has emptied out and is once again quiet. Parking remains easy.

The milkman has made his deliveries to the university before the administration staff have shown up. A quart of semi-skimmed delivered to the doorstep. This is a very small university town sight.

The camelia has had its moment in the sun. It's looking worse for wear after yesterdays winds. Amazing to think that the first flowering of the year is drawing to a close.

The north wind howling here yesterday brought snow and graupel to this part of the Clyde shore... ridiculous weather! Six years ago this month we were basking in summer temps... albeit confined to our backyards. So much between then and now, it seems almost as ancient history. YAM xx

I loved the bit “ the average Lab would struggle to resist the temptation to eat its owner’s dinner rather than help them navigate. ” certainly our experience too. Your camellia is so beautiful! It obviously loves where it is planted.

The Clematis, in spite of it's battering, looks beautiful - such a cheerful colour.
I smiled at the comment about the Labs and temptation!

The wall of water, the beautiful camellia, the quart of milk on the doorstep...simple joys of life.

The light and clarity of the first photo are stunning. I like the blue door as well.

Agree, your photos of the sea today are especially beautiful. I also enjoyed both the British and French humor. I would like to see an article about which dog breeds are best at training their humans - I think that poodles and PONs would both rank high on the list.

I would add that senior Rottweilers excel at training their humans.

Canada's Weather Network just released Ontario's highest snowfall for the season ending 3/21/26. Six cities had snowfall ranging from 540cm (17ft 9inches) to 448cm (14 ft 8 inches). A giraffe ranges 430cm to 570cm. (14ft 1 inch to 18ft 8 inches). This due to strong winds from Lake Huron, Georgian Bay and Lake Superior. I'm glad I live on Lake Ontario.

That's quite something !

I am even glader that I live in Toronto. According to the same Weather Network our total snow fall was 1.73 meters (5.6 feet). I happen to be 5.3. That bobble hat barely peeking above would be me.
The see shore picture is beautiful.
My Boston terrier, the original Bougalou Bear, would have eaten my dinner without blinking an eye. I miss his mayhem and mischief.

I just looked up Prince Edward County (south of Belleville) and we received about 200cm or 6ft 7inches. I am also 5.3.
