The worst loneliness is to not be comfortable with yourself.

What a difference a year makes. These ...

 have turned into these .

Another of life's joyful little victories. Too unimportant for a diary but too important to go unrecorded .

To mark the great occasion Bob and Sophie have turned their attention to the bamboo in the garden. A combination of tugging and biting and voila ! bamboo becomes an accessible snack.

Strong winds overnight. One of the fat balls from the bird feeder blows onto the ground. Sophie soon finds it . Chewed, then swallowed, before it can be retrieved. This could prove to be a birthday gift that keeps on giving.

If you tell the truth, you dont have to remember anything.

While we're at the Armistice Day commemoration, Bob is busy indoors . He spends his time improving the large sisal mat in the downstairs hallway. By the time we return he's chewed and swallowed a strip seven inches long. He flashes us his ' back so soon ? ' smile.

The old farmer spends the afternoon working on his motorhome. In the late afternoon he wanders over for a chat. Having found the tomb of his father, he's now planning to set across Europe with a gravestone to set over it. Angus wonders quietly to himself if the onset of winter is the best time to be heading off to Belorussia in a less than pristine 1972 Ford Transit camper wagon.
