2 more.

The community council continues to raise money for weatherproofing the benches outside the village hall. This afternoon we shall be attending  a talk on the history of  pigeon rearing. This will be given by a lady from Kirkcaldy who is an expert on the subject.  Entry is £3 per person and a cup of tea and slice of cake are provided. Donations are 'welcome'. Angus would gladly stay at home but 'The Font' informs him that it will be 'great fun' . This is said with a ' I'm not going alone ' tone of voice.

We still don't have the central heating on although it's only a matter of time before we do. This morning there's a decided ' Why didn't I put on a third layer ? ' nip to the air. We walk along the coast into town. At this time of the morning there are few people about but we proceed under the watchful eye of six deer, a number of startled hares and a large flock of geese that have been resting overnight in the pea fields.

Coming  into town from the south we pass a Scottie down on the embankment by the Oceanography laboratory. It has been positioned so that it has rather a grand view down to the old cathedral and the pier.

A perhaps less successful design on a sculpture by the town gate.

After a coffee at the Italian place it's time for a quiet stroll back home along by the river. At this time of the day we, and the towns dog owners, have the place to ourselves. Anything before ten is unexplored territory as far as the students are concerned. Second, third and fourth year students are returning.

On the way out of town our walk brings us to another Scottie. This is one that we'd already stumbled across on Sunday. Then it was surrounded by crowds watching the students progress to the end of the pier. This morning it's quite alone. Nothing like sunshine and a clear sky to make a fibreglass work of art look grand.

Whatever next ? Would you buy one of these ? Has anyone seen one ? :https://www.livescience.com/planet-earth/plants/pink-pineapples-are-in-high-demand

Dog faces

'Puppy' arrives at the gate. 'Puppy' is now too large to squeeze through the bars.

Her elder sister shows up to sort things out. Elder sister is also too big to squeeze into the garden. This state of affairs is not accepted in silence. Angus spent much of yesterday on a Zoom call with the garden designer. The garden designer is oblivious to cost and waves away all attempts to establish firm figures. The phrase ' it will look stunning ' is used so frequently it starts to grate.  At more than one stage I think of ending the contract and firing him. It is finally agreed that he will show up for an on site meeting on Thursday morning with a written estimate. " Good luck with that " says 'The Font'.

Town is now quiet. We have the beach to ourselves. You'd expect the shore to be teeming with students but it seems that early rising is not a youthful trait.

We have a chance to saunter around town untroubled by crowds.

The faces of the Scotties by the Sea are all different.

Some are more successful than others.
