Another beautiful, but chill, start to the day here in Scotland. It might get to 18C this afternoon. By contrast London is expecting their fifth heat wave of the year with a high of 35C.
Last night a huge cruise liner drifted by the end of the garden. It's the closest inshore we've ever seen one. A little later another ship, almost as big, joins it going in the same direction. We stand at the garden wall with a glass of Margaux and watch them drift towards the wind farms and the horizon. If you'd told me ten years ago that cruising round Scotland would go mainstream I would have laughed aloud and thought you quite mad. Until three or four years ago the only folks cruising these waters were hardy bird watchers looking for puffins on the offshore rock stacks. Nowadays the tell tale signs of climate change and cool weather tourism are slowly but surely mounting up.
I'd expect to see houses with designs like this in London, not Kenya :https://unityhomes.co.ke/silver-hill/

Mr Koch would do well to study Advaita Vedanta to its very end... and understand that his experience on that beach was what gazzillions of meditators work for. Tat tvam asi. YAM xx
Good for the American golfers - at least, they'll have a non-golf story to tell. The article about AI in medicine was interesting. I tend to think it could be very useful. Doctors, like the rest of us, are often stuck in the silos of their specialties, so maybe AI could help them analyze a particular set of symptoms more broadly. But then again in that case maybe we would never have had "House."
The sheep look so content on this Tuesday morning. I agree those Fun Fair trucks look close enough to at least damage the curb of the restored fountain.
A Scotland and Scandinavia cruise sounds like a joy, so much to see, like your front garden.
Another lovely post about life in a wee town on the North Sea. Thank you.
I'm sure a "cold plunge" seemed like an excellent idea after some post-dinner cocktails...but not so much in the morning. Maybe they should try the seaside swimming pool. If the Kenyan project is a retirement community, who builds 3 story homes for retirees?
Beautiful photos! Thank you so much for sharing. Warm greetings from a retired lady living in Montreal, Canada.

Yes, it’s a “thing”.
