The post voyage inner ear motion has eased and life on dry land has fallen into its welcome routines. The villagers have noted our return. " It's good to see lights on in the old house " says the farmer as we pass the potato sheds. He reminds us of the upcoming St Andrews night village get together and adds " You mentioned you might have some spare wine ". I confirm that we do. We are both going on the wagon for four weeks after our bibulous tour of Norways coast. An exception will be made for St Andrews day.
Attention in these parts is now turning to Christmas. Brussel Sprouts are stacked up on the wall outside the farm shop.
American wine makes an appearance in the windows of the local wine store. There are enough American immigrants to make the 'Thanksgiving' demographic that's worth selling to. We're surprised at how much a bottle of Screaming Eagle costs.

The last two posts have not made me hanker for an Arctic cruise. For the rest of us, it’s good to have you back.

All four of those inaugural lectures would have been worth a listen... And those sprouts look good! YAM xx
I adore sprouts and those in your farm shop are beautiful.

I am hoping I can find sprouts on the stalk for Thanksgiving.
My life has also fallen into its welcome routine now that you're back. I'm glad you enjoyed the trip even though it didn't fulfill all hopes (perhaps a perspective on life in general).
It must be nice to be home. Those brussel sprouts look wonderful. There is a small farm about a five-minute walk away from our home, and they have a glorious field of broccoli at the moment. It is all I can do not to leap the fence. I agree with you about Phillips O'Brien; fortunately, it looks as though the "deal" is beginning to sprout holes. (Thank heavens for incompetence?) The various responses to Cheney's passing have been interesting - many of the comments to that video are appalling, but many others have recognized the man's latter-day courage (and that of his daughter) in staring down DJT. It is unfortunate that many on the left still seem reluctant to allow their former antagonists into the resistance tent. I have never been MAGA, but like your Arizonians, I was a Republican until the day John McCain died, at which point I deemed myself released.
Not to rub it in, but the Northern Lights have been visible from the mountains above Los Angeles...So glad you're back!
Phillips O'brien's take is spot on, Trump gets his direction from Putin, he has never been a friend of Ukraine. One can only hope that the European leaders finally realize this, move away from the US and back Ukraine's efforts to remain free from Russian aggression.
