Taking the roof off.

The roof tilers have taken the tiles off the  village hall roof for a second time. When, a little after ten, it starts to rain the workmen disappear. The rain becomes heavy. In fact it pours torrentially all day. There would have been better times to leave the village hall roofless.

Bad weather doesn't interfere with the PONs enjoyment of life. Lamb on a rope has gone missing somewhere in the garden. A lengthy search under the laurel hedge fails to find it. Sophie turns to a new and inseparable friend - Furry Fox. Wherever Sophie goes Furry Fox follows. Bob wants to share in the fun. He has no luck.

So passes a wet day with two healthy dogs who make it clear they want to go outside in the rain. Dog owners will recognize it as one of 'those' days. PONs, it must be said, are not quiet dogs. Their coats also absorb water like a sponge.

Dry and warm here at the moment, so it's safe to go outside. We hope Sophie doesn't treat Furry Fox the way she did Lamb on a rope. It's only on loan until Bob manages to steal it back !

Is that the beloved-of-Bob furry Fox or a new one? How dare she steal her brother's favourite toy?!

I had wondered if a post titled 'taking the roof off' was going to be a reference to high volume levels from Sophie...

How did you manage before furry fox?

Merlin and I are just off for a wet and windy walk along the sea wall. When we return he will perform his unusual 'ants in the pants' drying off dance, fiollowed by a thorough rearrangement of the rug on his bed x

I'm relieved to know 'taking the roof off' does not refer to some untoward occurrence at the ROF.
With Bob and Sophie inside, did you get lots of exercise following them around the house?

We've had two days of our first "El Nino" storm. Otto has slept for two days straight...

It's always cheering to see Furry Fox make an appearance. Perhaps lamp on a rope is taking a well-earned respite.

It did occur to us that winter was not the best time to repair a roof....
