Moral dilemma

On the car radio this morning a story about Donald Trump criticising Rihanna. The commentator informs us that Rihanna is a 'popular entertainer'. A snippet of her music is then played. I'm guessing that the age profile of listeners to the seven am radio broadcast on a Sunday morning is rather higher than that of the average Rihanna fan. The announcer reassures us that despite the criticism Rihanna is 'laser focused ' on her performance at the Super Bowl.

" Save your family or save humanity. Make the choice " is the moral dilemma posed by the poster for 'coming attractions'  at the cinema.  It is certainly too profound a question for Angus and his shaggy companion  to wrestle with this early on a Sunday morning.

The other viewing choices are less morally daunting. Puss in Boots is showing which indicates that it's half term in the local schools.

We stop off at the trendy student cafe for a pre-walk coffee. It is already full . Angus isn't sure whether the students are up early or returning home after a late night. The espresso is so strong it's undrinkable. Sophie fares better with a bowl of fresh water and a piece of shortbread.

I'd hoped that the wind might have died down a bit by the time we make it onto the beach. It hasn't. At times both of Sophie's ear stick out at right angles.  To avoid the stinging sand we return home through the shelter of the dunes.

A slightly late start to our day. Scotland beats Wales in the rugby .  A rare and unexpected occurrence and the teams second win in a row.  A bottle of Meursault is opened to celebrate. This morning Angus  thinks he might have drunk one glass too many.

Nice photo of a wind-blown Sophie - I'll bet she was glad to take the sheltered route home through the dunes too.
I suspect the students are returning after a typical Saturday night - that's part of what being a student is all about!

It was a great win. Who was Sophie supporting?

Two brilliant (in different ways) Six Nations games yesterday. Well worth a slightly sore head the next morning!

Dead seals test positive for bird flu in Scotland, Experts warn virus is rapidly spreading, Humans could be next

Is what I sent above is it true about the seals? Thank You.

Charlotte - I spoke to one of our neighbouring farmers. It seems avian flu has been found in seals all along the coast. The animals were found in Aberdeenshire, Highlands, Fife and Orkney - so that's a stretch of the better part of 300 miles. A hump back whale has been seen in the estuary - which is unusual and may signal a change in feeding routines.

Shocking to have read this title this morning. I kept thinking of you and Sophie. Please, be very careful.
Thank You for your reply. Blessings upon all three of you always. ☕️πŸΎπŸΎπŸ³πŸ¬πŸ¦…πŸ”πŸ€

Hello Angus! I've been keeping up with your daily posts, but haven't commented in way too long. This morning, I'll change that.

Rhianna has been a longtime critic of Donald Trump - News reports this week reminded us of when she posted spray-painted "criticism" of him on a car at an art ranch in Amarillo Texas that I'm sure he's never gotten over. I doubt he ever will.

It has been a windy winter for us too. And the Avian Flu is also a big concern along the Chesapeake Bay, etc.

Enjoy your Sunday - No Super bowl at our house, but maybe we'll watch Rhianna at halftime.

One glass to many, or a lack of espresso? I go with the later. A little quality time with the sweet girl and you will be right as rain.

My, yes, that match yesterday was worth celebrating (I did so by preparing some dirty fries - no hangover but definitely not healthy!) Scotland looked like they really knew what they were doing and kept it going right to the end. Now for number three... YAM xx

Almost looks as if the wind is making it through Sophie's substantial coat.
No need for a sand blasting anytime. Inland a bit is safer for all.

Sophie? Are you reading this? No eating dead stuff found on the beach!! (Otto's absolute favorite!)

Well done, Scotland. Maybe they're in the ascendant (I remember Gavin Hastings) but personally I would love to see Italy achieving top honours.
Commiserations to Sophie - long ears and feathers, though beautiful, can be a disadvantage. She doesn't look too disturbed, though.
