The back to front baseball cap.

Lots of television cranes out on the golf course this morning. Berkeley, Princeton, and Michigan are playing St Andrews in a college golf tournament. A cameraman tells us college golf is close to being a billion dollar franchise in the US. I'd put my money on the Princeton team who have an air of 'money' about them. There again the St Andrews players may understand the local weather conditions rather better than the visitors.

Down on the beach the sand glows with the sort of light you'd expect to find in the Caribbean. Some student runners and the usual cast of local dog walkers are the only ones there to enjoy it.

At the bakers a dog does its very best not to follow his mistress ( and the alluring smells ) inside.

On our way home the Police have pulled over a souped up ten year old Mazda. A young man wearing a a baseball hat back to front is having a 'discussion' with two officers about the speed limit. You don't see Police here very often so this is quite a talking point.

Back on the coast  our drive through the village is delayed while we wait for a farmer to transfer some potato boxes to the back of his trailer. He's using a fork lift he's never driven before so this takes longer than you'd imagine. Life out here can be unhurried. On days like this it's super-unhurried.

On some days an unhurried life is just what one needs.

The photo of the sand is a wonderful show of light. The witch in the baker’s window seems to have no effect on the expectant dog.

Speeding through an unhurried place, is never a good thing.

Charlie is, fortunately, welcome in the bakeries here and his favorite morning outing is a stop for a curly croissant end followed by a visit to the cheese shop next door, where the owner always offers him a sliver. We were in Genoa over the weekend and found that Italy may be even more dog-friendly than France. There were dogs everywhere, including lots of poodles, which we almost never see in our part of France.

The golden beach, bright-eyed dog, and RLS link are especially appreciated today.
