One of those cold, damp mornings when every leaf in the garden wants to stick to your muzzle.
After a trip to the cafe and the greengrocers life seems rosier.
Big brother finds destuffed pink squirrel in the rose border and charges off with it.
After a slow start it's shaping up to be the best day ever.
The phone line plays up. Service ( never wonderful at the best of times ) becomes even more temperamental. France Telecom promise me they'll get someone out within 48 hours. '' That of course doesn't include weekends " adds the service engineer helpfully.
A man from the power company comes to wash the street lights. He has a small truck with a hydraulic platform on the back so he can raise himself up to bulb level. The PONs watch on in engrossed silence. Apart from rural France I've never seen anyone wash street lights . The village has a population of 67 and 20 street lights. This must give us one of the highest street light to population ratios in the world. The mayor, it must be said, is very keen on street lights as a sign of 'modernity'.

Wonderful action photo of Bob!
Bertie wants to tell Sophie that the solution to the problem of leaves and twigs caught in the fur is to have a human slave who follows you around removing the vegetation the instant you look uncomfortable.
Washing street lights is a job that I've not heard of either - Surprising since it's all about "jobs, jobs, jobs" here in the US and destroying the environment too of course.

A simple winter's morning... and sound of the sweet cello. Thanks for that! YAM xx
Sophie-If the position ever becomes available, let my mom know. She has tons of experience and, I would love to live in France! Sophie the Doodle Dog
A wonderful, happy picture of Bob and Sophie adorned with a leaf is priceless.
I would love to see a picture of Sophie, and Bob too, after Loic blows the leaves !!!
Trust me .... you wouldn't !
Cleaning light bulbs...that's a new one. Many around us don't last long enough to be cleaned, the cherubs throw rocks at them. Surprised the tykes haven't discovered that sport.
The tykes are smart enough to know that in a village of 67 souls they can't hide.
Position as Handmaiden to Mlle Sophie. Bertie could be on to something here.
