Easter Monday.

The mayor knows a retired heating engineer. A call is made and a septuagenarian gentleman in white overalls arrives at the gate. He is deaf and has an 'Oc' accent that is beyond comprehension but he does understand boilers.

The retired gentleman lies on his stomach and fiddles around inside the fuel tank. Bob and Sophie find this extremely interesting. They are banished indoors. The old gentleman  then disappears into the boiler room. The house smells of heating oil. Finally, with a liberated roar and a plume of acrid black smoke, the boiler springs into life. A small but very welcome Easter miracle.

After a leisurely shower Bob and 'The Font' head off for a power walk round the lake. Angus and Sophie go for a tour of the village. Sophie stops for a protracted drink from the old zinc bath by the pottery furnace. She then stops to stare at the frogs sunning themselves on the side of the village pond.

Sophie and her master then head off for some goats cheese from the market.

Detouring en route for some Lamb and rosemary ravioli for lunch. This unusual combination may, or may not be a success.

A dog at the butchers counter causes Sophie and her master to back track. Sophie makes those high pitched '' I so want to play with him " noises. The other dog is more interested in the chopped liver than he is in Sophie.

The bakers has an excellent holiday display.

We opt for a festive looking millefeuille. Sophie gets given the curly end of a malformed croissant. She is extremely pleased with this.

Can a day get any better ?

Nice tune to pep the shoulders in the morning, ta!
As for silver balls... I knew there had to be something one could to with the cooking foil which is sitting waiting for purpose in life.

Mlle Sophie is looking svelte and long of limb, now that she has 'undressed'! YAM xx

Yummmmo. Good choice on the cake, and the pasta sounds interesting.

Did Sophie tell Bob she'd lucked out with the malformed curly croissant end !

A friend who is expert on such things thanks to extensive research and experience explained that the best way to eat a mille-feuille is to turn it on its side. That allows you to cut through the layers without forcing the custard innards to squirt out.
Not sure how the advice would work on a multi-serving round mille-feuille....

With a large mille feuille gravity runs its custard squirting course.

Both PONs seem to have longer legs than previous generations of PONs. Perhaps 1/16th Shelty in these two ?

This is the old New York joke come to life: "The other dog is more interested in the chopped liver than he is in Sophie."
Sophie: So what am I, chopped liver? LOL
Hooray for elderly engineers and hot water.
