The pursuit of happiness.

In the hectic life of a PON Saturday ( like every other day ) is a day set aside for being happy.

It's a day for rolling in the swathes of wild flowers that line the lane ....

..... and sitting on the storm drain while taking in the view, enjoying ear tickles and PONdering world affairs .

There will soon be a trip to the bakers for some croissant slivers. This will be followed by a lengthy nap. The pursuit of happiness while simultaneously guarding the flock and greeting passing pilgrims looks easy but can be exhausting.

And a piece of music where the cello and bass are used as a drum. The lead violinist seems very enthusiastic : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BC2oaSAToRE

I like the dirt crumbs clinging to Sophie's mouth. Possibly the perfect compliment to croissant slivers. (If you're Sophie.)

Sweet answer to the library mistery...but I was hoping it was rather a bit of unusual tradecraft

Rolling in wildflowers and croissant slivers = the best day ever.
Not so very long ago, libraries recorded who'd read which book by writing names on a card carried in a pocket attached to the endpapers. Every so often, I still find one from my local library. It was a fun way of seeing whether your friends had read a book you'd chosen.
