The farmer tells us that what we thought were Siskins are actually Yellowhammers. These are much rarer and are on the 'red' endangered list. The High Court judge , who has heard about their arrival , wanders down the track with his labrador to see if he can catch a glimpse of them. He brings with him the sad news that Squirrelpox has now appeared north of the Central Lowlands: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-68740155 . The first confirmed victim has been reported in Dunfermline - thirty miles away. This does not auger well for our local red squirrel population.
The four American golfers we saw yesterday are also up and about. They're in town looking to find somewhere for breakfast. Let's hope they've moved their rental car from its pay by the hour parking spot. Ryland continues to lead the way.

No danger of those chocolates lasting until their sell by date! The salted caramel would be gone in a flash!
Worrying news about the threat to red squirrels. Aberdeen has done thorough job eliminating the grey invaders in recent years and red squirrel population would seem to be doing well here at the moment. I hope the measures taken to arrest the spread of the pox will be successful.
Cheers, Gail.
I am imagining Ryland confidently leading his acolytes down dead end streets and into someone's back garden.
Lots of yellowhammers around Macallan distillery. Perhaps the angels' share attracts them.

Being more a savoury person than sweet tooth, I'd give the chips a go. That's assuming that, like other animal-based flavours, there's no actual animal products in the ingredients! The sun may be shining in Lanark just now but it's still only 4°C... YAM xx
Enjoy the glorious day.
I always KNEW that de-caf was bad, and to be avoided!
