We had our flu injections last month. Neither of us had any side effects. Since then we've been debating whether to have Covid boosters . Last years shots left both of us feeling miserable for a couple of days. Our initial plan was to do without but the thought of being confined on a ferry for a couple of weeks in the Arctic Circle finally pushes us into making a decision. We will have them at a pharmacy in Dundee next week. We're even offered a choice of vaccines. We opt for the Pfizer one over Moderna without any rationale for doing so .
Our breakfast time walk is closely monitored by an inquisitive neighbouring village dog.
A 'Love Bench' has appeared outside the cocktail bar that now operates in what used to be the Salvation Army Hall. Student couples seem to want to sit on it and have their photo taken while sipping something luridly coloured and stylishly accessorized with a paper umbrella This morning with its lights turned off it looks rather forlorn.
By eight am as we head towards Starbucks the delivery trucks are out blocking both sides of the shopping street. The empty shop by the mountaineering store is being turned into yet another coffee shop. We think this may be the sixteenth in the old medieval heart of the town.

My sister and my cousin have both recently been down with COVID once again (they insist on mingling with the masses), and I have heard anecdotally that it's becoming a bit prevalent again, so very sensible to get those shots. YAM xx
Vaccines are scheduled for next Saturday.
I went for my annual checkup, and my doc suggested that if you're going to get a Covid vaccine, get it before a trip, because it's effectiveness is not as long as one would wish.
Pfizer is to be preferred to Moderna, anecdotally.
The love bench adds nothing desirable to the environment.
I owned a Honda Fit and loved it for tooling around my city. When it reached the end of its useful life, though, I moved into a Subaru Forester, primarily because in the Fit I felt like a bug that would be squashed by the enormous vehicles on the highway alongside me. Now even the Forester feels small, up against massive Jeeps and other ridiculously-sized vehicles. Soon "we're gonna need bigger roads".

That's a handsome dog. We'll have Pfizer shots again on Monday.
We will stick with Moderna in two weeks time. Does that beautiful dog not have an owner? Can St. Andrews support yet another coffee shop? I guess time will tell.

That looks like the golden who was out in the wind the other day. So handsome! I had my Covid booster a couple of weeks ago. Side effects came late the next day and lasted a couple of days. (Longer than in the past.). They included body aches and low energy. But I bounced back quickly. I have several friends who contracted Covid on planes this summer. Good idea to get jabbed before your trip.
